Default Creative Assembly will be making many console based games in the future.

"As the final touches are applied to our new studio floor for the console team, a shiny back-lit CA logo is mounted to the reception wall!" (Taken from CA website)

We all know that Sega owns CA. Do you know what the highest selling games are in Japan? Its the mindless "Dynasty Warriors" series, and its brother "Samurai Warriors". In my opinion, the future looks bleak for us Total War fans. Im sure Sega wants CA to phase out their PC based titles and go where the real money is (and less piracy) in console games. Which we all know is impossible to release a Total War game on. Remember CAs total failures of their console games? "Viking: Battle For Asgard", "Spartan: Total Warrior", "Stormrise". Bad news indeed my friends...

Well to be fair, those dynasty warriors and samurai warriors series are utter garbage compared to shogun 2 total war. Sales wont lie either, so Sega would be stupid to not let CA do their thing. Sega is not EA after all.

From what Ive read Shogun2 sales have not been that good.

Tell me who would be a better company for SEGA to cut into KOEIs profits of their Dynasty Warriors series than a console ready, historically based dev company like CA? Its obvious.

When SEGA became the publisher for Sports Interactive they didn't ruin the Football Manager series and dumb it down for consoles, they allowed the developers to continue doing what they do. I see no reason to worry

No one gives a damn how well the Dynasty Warriors series is doing sales wise.

Spartan:Total Warrior wasn't that bad actually, certainly far better than the Dynasty Warriors series if only for the likes of Hydra, Medusa and Emperor Tiberius turning up as boss battles.

This is what is killing our beloved series ... just keep waiting for it to be patched to perfection.

Also actually I think STEAM has been great for PC games ... do you know how many games I have bought there, many of which I have yet to play because they were a good deal, I know I am not the only one that does this impulse buying. STEAM might be the thing that saves PC gaming!

i beg your pardon? were did i mention perfection?

i prefer to wait for a patch rather than play a game and be sick of it before its patched. then never pick it up again even after its patched because my 1st playthrough ruined the experiance for me

anyways apart from me having the right as a consumer to buy a game when i chose me waiting for a patch is hardly killing the series, kind of drama queen from you eh

how many people can say they have bought ever title since original shogun? i have shown more than enough support for tw over the years.
if i chose to hold back until i see a major patch in the offing before i lay out then thats my choice. your comments were clearly just aimed at starting some sort of argument

At least EA supports its games.

Really? People have been waiting for ages for Patch 2 for Fifa 11 PC - and Patch 1 hardly fixed anything. EA supporting their games, that's a laugh. CA are far more supportive to TW than EA are to their games.

If Samurai Warriors is anything like Dynasty Warriors, it's a fighting game rather than an RTS game and can't really be compared to Total War. It's like comparing Call of Duty to Grand Turismo.

They won't if they keep pushing console games out like Stormrise.

two links of old articles that make this thread a little more scarier....

    http://www.bit-tech.net/news/gaming/...-to-consoles/1

    http://www.vg247.com/2010/12/07/crea...r-on-consoles/

Not too mention senior project positions being offered at CA "with expierence in console FPS and third person shooters"

Worse case scenario is that CA closes its PC division down, but then that leaves to be seen if they open up everything for the community to carry the torch so to speak.....one of the big shooter publishers did it(sorry need source to confirm) ..........

    denial.....disbelief.......naivety....

I never believed it for a long time but companies are doing everything these days to maximize every last penny they spend and when you take into account the shift in the gaming industry its as obvious as pie.....

I just hope they go down in style and not try screw the pooch too much....

Why is this news? We as PC gamers have been getting cut more and more out of the market for the quick $$$ of map packs and patches that we used to get for free. Well since we PC gamers Beta test most if not all games released today, why do we get the shorter end of the stick? Why are you surprised? I mean look at the B S marketing plan for games released thus far to us. We will sell you 60% of the game content then over charge you for the rest over 6 months. For what? Lack luster customer service, no passion to make complete games and (FINALLY) O yeah sticking the money fork in our ARSE after we have suffered through this Garage Sale, make shift platform of games which i might add was only saved by your Beloved mod community, who you need to keep happy but o yeah, that cuts from your profits......after all GOD FORBID......Someone take the time to make the GAME RIGHT and more exciting than this Rain Man/Kmart series has been.

What we should get respect? Why we keep spending our money and getting sucked into these sign online play and pay websites. To only get advertised games they made, which o BTW get over the top ratings in some PC gaming magazine and some rating service which: "JUST HAPPENS" over rates the games so you buy them to find out, you need to break out your Atari from the museum just to relate to the CRAP that had been sold you.

What even sadder is this is not a hate Reply this is the Truth which btw is illegal and therefore out of sight for those who may feel the same about the back dooring of us gamers who BTW created the market which we all share in. One Day there will be justice for this and I pray that I can write in your forums about a game that did not require: a immediate patch, or a online sign up, but instead stayed true to the REAL Genius of making a game that is complete and has a replay value longer than 100 hours. Then as your reeling from the DL sales to feel that void that came crashing down upon your preying companies doorstep ; like Little Red Ridding Hood with an AK-47. You will not be able to tell if Grandma is a wolf because you are, then you will realize that selling hope and delivering BS for years has cost you more than money its cost you a Value that can never be purchased:

    Respect

Staying true to the reason games were made

    Creating and delivering masterpieces

Sharing the true dream ALL us gamers hit the power button for: TO PLAY That Dream Together!

    And Yes SOME TRUTH! OMG!

They've already made 3 games on consoles, just not TW games
