    Default Where is the Pope hiding????

    So I have Rome. And I want to keep good relations with the Pope. The problem is that he has no settlements, and I cant seem to find any of his diplomats, captains, or generals. Where could he be???

    This should be stickied, its a pretty frequent question. What faction was the pope elected from?

    @Jihad4Life
    Use toggle_fow command to see the Pope on the campaign map but generally he hides near Rome in a sparse forest so that's why we can't see him even with toggle_fow on thus use spies to locate him.
    Another thing you can try is see his name in the Papal scroll(whatever it's called) and use the move command to move him on to some random tile near your diplomat.
    Can't think of anything else right now, sorry.

    And why this should be stickied? Don't you think it's more appropriate to put it under the FAQs instead?

    Deleted few posts.

    @Ferdiad
    Don't test my patience. It's not obligatory for you to post in every thread if you can't answer the question seriously then don't answer FCS!
    You try to derail every other thread onto some random nonsense. PM me if you want to talk about it.

    As you can see in my original post. "...its a pretty frequent question"

    Now if im not mistaken FAQ actually is an acronym for Frequently Asked Questions.

    Unless you want to take my post at face value, then you could assume that I meant to sticky the answer to the OP's question right on the front of the TWC homepage.

    Your initial post meant that this (yes this thread, the one right here in which we are posting right now unless the word this means something else) thread should be stickied in the SS forums as this has been asked frequently which is totally not necessary.

    And why the hell would anyone stick a question and it's answer on the TWC homepage, go on enlighten me, lets derail the thread & where did i assumed such a thing, did i? Quote me!

    Did you said that this question & it's answer should be added in the FAQs thread(which is already sticked btw)? NO!

    Everybody lets talk about this first, forget the OP.

    Have i failed to understand your statement? What does post#2 means, can someone explain it to both of us.

    Damn, mates... a little hostility here now... let's all sing Cumbaya together and think about our happy places....

    actually, the TOPIC should be in the FAQ that, IMHO should be converted to an .pdf and comes with the SS download... not everyone seem to read these FAQ's and then asks silly or over-asked questions that either derail or becomes a "use the search function noob!" kind of threads...

    I would be happy to see the FAQ and all the sub-mods FAQ's come as .pdf files in the download so that no one can state that they "didn't find the bloody thingies"... also, a readme that says "phu-leeease read the bloody FAQ's god dammit before posting!"

    Preachercheeze,

    The PDF is a grand idea, but here on SS we have done much for folk to find the answers for questions, such as this with Stickies, FAQ and mini-forums, but never the less it is just too easy for an OP to post a new thread.
    Our Moderators could choose to do the same as they do on the SPQR mod for RTW, if you ask a question that is in the 'Readme', it will not be answered, but certainly locked. However this as its drawbacks, as it is not very friendly. SS is one of the main mods on TWC, indeed it is a flagship, so we cannot afford to give any negative PR.

    didn't mean that we should stop answering peoples questions... just that by making some of these readmes and FAQ's downloadable with the SS mod, many potential threads might be saved... I like helping people to get the answers, but as a courtesy, by providing the FAQ as a .pdf, they might find the answers they need directly...

    just thinking....

    I'd like to find Pope too, but if you're not a Catholic faction the chances of even knowing if a pope exists at all are slim regardless of where he may be hiding, I've thrashed him many times as the Romans, Turks, Fatimids, Moors and he's just gone, I've spied out everywhere in italy by resetting my turns to try and find him, he's just gone and never pops up again, I'd like him to have a home, ... somewhere in Visby or Rhodes... something isolated and far from me

    So if one takes Rome, vanquishes every Catholic faction and keeps assassinating the pope until there are no more eligible cardinals what happens? Can the papacy be permanently removed?

    I think it's been done, after a while people just don't notice anymore, however even after wiping out every last vestige of them, they'll still have their icon at the top of the screen when turns go around for factions. Just like the filthy Teutonic Order
