    Default Heat Issue

    Hi there!

I have an issue of my laptop becoming very hot when running RTW. It is quite a new laptop and I run RTW on lower settings so it can't be struggling. Other games such as Football Manager with a huge database run fine and cool. I don't know what the problem is.

You know nothing of how much power a 3d modeling engine can generate and RTW is one.

If you don't belive me, get a program like Speedfan, run the game in windowed mode, and watch the temps climb.

I believe you my computer goes even louder for Shogun 2, but the fan doesn't go off like it does with RTW, it just gets louder and louder

You haven't told me why laptops are different to desktops, and you haven't told me if there is anything I can do to help it. You have told me how to make my laptop hotter though, so thanks for that.

I've played RTW on a desktop for years and there hasn't been any heat/ noise issues at all. I have a lot more powerful laptop now and it is literally molten.

If it's a laptop, notebook, netbook, etc, you may want to invest in a cooling pad. There are instances one was needed even for Medieval2/Kingdoms.

Laptops are more compact and have limited airflow. Desktops have far more empty space inside the case meaning more airflow and less overheating.
