How do you get Heroes in custom battles?

Can you combine heroes like aragorn, legolas, gimli, and gandalf in custom battles or are they only for the fellowship campaign?

Seeing how they all contain separate skeletons, making a unit with every model like what you are asking for is nigh impossible since each soldier in every unit must use the same skeleton.

You can, however, add the hero models to a unit as officers (three per unit at most) to get what you want.

That's what I meant. Is there no way to have the individual hero model in a custom game? Oh yeah what faction gets them in the normal campaign anyway? Eriador?

Well, you could attempt to do like what the TATW team did for the Balrog and Sauron by making them elephants (done by modifying a few files such as the "battle_models.modeldb," "export_descr_unit.txt," "descr_mount.txt," "export_unit.txt," etc.)

Not in the campaign, no. At least, not yet.
