Default Rebellion Problems - what should I do?

Well, I have faced a big difficulty now... I'm playing British campaign and had occupied whole Germany, Gaul, North Italy and half of Spain. I'm trying to occupuy whole Italy and sending all my army to there. But my capital was over population so I purposely made it rebel and hope to "recapture" it and extermine the population... and the trouble started... immediately one turn after my capital rebelled, my whole Germany provinces rebelled too. After two turns, half of my provinces were rebelled... and the rest are just the problem of time... my whole army are engaging Roman so no time to fight the rebel and the areas are too big too. Now my economy is very bad and probably can't held too long... what should I do now? (anyone know how to take the game photo? Then I can take the picture and show you guys.)

Sounds tough, did you change your capital before you let it rebel? That might be the problem...

Take Italy move your capital to just above Italy then retake your lost provinces.
Italy is the prize, its rich, and so is the Greek peninsula.
