Unspecified Error. Game will now terminate

I get that message when I try to start the campaign, followed the installation steps to the letter, except for the BETTER_WATER and other water files because I couldn't find them in the data folder (downloaded the full english version torrent, maybe they already took care of them?). Windows 7 user, ran it as administrator. Thanks of the help

Yeah, same issue for me, I just ran off the 1.4.4 full english torrent. Game gives me the unspecified crash error two-three turns into a Sylvanian Campaign, usually after I try to invade Meklandburg. Reikland didn't do it and I haven't run through the other factions yet.

Fixed the problem, seems I run into another torrent that wasn't exactly what it seemed. Tried again with Reddwarf topic and everything runs fine now.

FFHAuthor, you might have the same error message but probably is a totally different problem, I couldn't even start the campaign. In my experience, everytime I get an error is because I did something wrong, so I suggest you to go to Reddwarf's Sticky (called "Torrent Downloads" or something like that in the main COW forum) and follow it step by step using the links posted there, because it works fine for me.

FFHAuthor, I have the same issue. CTD turn 3, every time I try. I use red dwarf's torrent.

Bad install. I already finished my forth campaign and had only about 5-6 CTD's (mainly caused by translation). Check the log file and you will see what exactly causing errors. And try to re-install vanilla game and mod itself and be sure to follow all the steps in the right order.

Would you reccomend trying to install without using a torrent ? I know I installed mine perfectly, but maybe its the torrented version, it got outdated or something.

I have installed torrent version myself and it works fine. Just follow all instructions given by RedDwarf

Good luck with that And if it won't work just post about your problem and log file in off bug thread. Maybe somebody from dev team will tell you what's wrong
