so lets see
the only thing I dislike is the visual impact of the strategic map, most mods now have eye-candy overhaul included but not yet bc;for the "I like.." stuff go see my thread
Pros: Great music, great-looking units, fairly challenging, fresh setting
Cons: Unpredictable and invincible Mongols, AoR system sometimes means you can't recruit anything useful from conquered areas, AI gets major bonuses, Rajput elephant bodyguard

the only thing i do not like in BC are merchants.. i do not really understand for what they are needed.. thousands of merchants from AI just make turns to end slower
pros: superb skins for units; great music; imo good balance (90% of the things) in price, upkeep, time construction, etc; challenging; edu constant in progress for more enjoyable play; I personally like that agents (no priests, which is great btw!) have lots of movement points; and many other things
cons: one uber-power Ayyubid (since map focus on rather small aria, it is great disbalance to have such power nation, especially in spot where is ayyubid sultanate. ). Their economy power should stay, but their units are OP; AoR system, but Im glad it is on "redo list"; KoJ need help, it cant put even decent fight if it is managed with ai, leaving ayyubida to grow in might even more; Forts needs to be more expensive (it is odd that forts cost 500 coins while it is very hard to build spys fast and build decent siege structures/units. Forts should be increased in price, around 2000coins imo); other minor things too.
please fix CTD when 4th crusade arrives, and mongols too.
BC is superior in most ways, i'm not going to list it would take a while!... the unit's skins and the music are unrivaled.
Outside of drastic engine overhauls to include things like EUIII or ETW has such as deeper campaign experience with diplomacy, prestige victories, etc -- the things that that need improvement are:
-The campaign map. It is not nearly up to snuff compared to the quality of everything else. Full artistic overhaul.
-Unfinished KoJ. Some units are not properly balanced, some are in the wrong places or order in recruitment list, some are not even recruitable due to some omissions from EDU/EDB. See here for a beginning of an in depth review.
- Broken swordsmen.
Pros: Great units, lasting alliances, more realistic diplomacy, epic battles, epic rivalries (KoJ v. Ayyubids, Ghorids v. Ghazni, etc.), mercenaries help fill out the rosters where certain factions are lacking (example: Armenia can hire Mercenary Latin Knights to make up for the lack of lancers)
Cons: can't recruit mid-tier units until the highest tier settlement (example: can't recruit Latin Knights for KoJ until Citadel), Great Seljuqs are way too powerful
Overall: Great mod
Over all it's one of my all time favorite mods for any game I've played. But it could use some small improvements here and there to make it feel a bit more complete. Some of my main choices to change would be:
1.The AOR system. It works alright atm but some of the factions are needlessly limited in which of their troops they can recruit and where.(Particularly Georgia and Armenia, Makuria makes sense since their Black African but then that means they should have more "white" Arab units available to them outside the homeland.)
2.The campaign map feels a little empty in terms of stuff going on. Thankfully 2.3 is going to fix that it seems.
3.Some folks might disagree with me on this. But I honestly think that the current map needs to be extended west to include Greece and the Balkans(+ Carpathians). I feel that it could add a nice extra theater to fight in plus I just don't like playing as the ERE without Greece, it just feels weird.
4.Polishing/finishing the African and Indian cultures. This would by far be the hardest to do since it includes making new building models for the castles and cities but I think it's necessary at some point to address since they both are such key players in BC, rather than just being extra flavor like in more Euro-centric mods.
That's all I can think of right now. I hope Wudang or somebody takes these suggestions into account.
Under the patronage of Basileos Leandros I
I love the mod but only finished 1 campaign. CTD is the biggest issue for me.
I forgot. Swordsmen are rather broken indeed; I've had swordsmen slash Ahdath infantry dozens of times to no effect. It's infuriating when the lowliest spearmen effortlessly kill all my swordsmen.

Pros: Great looking units, Epic campaigns, KoJ - Makuria - Armenia - Rajputs - Ghorids.
Cons: AOR system, I had 2.02 Knights and Cav units run the opposite way when ordered to attack, Some units not in recruitment list.
Pros: fanstastic climate, multitude of good looking units (all new), music, exotic and interesting part of world, longer battles, less murderous archers, spearmen standing very good and long against cavalry
Cons: swordsmen, almost immortal generals, too small difference in defence between mounted and dismounted units, lack of possibility of dismount/mount unit before battles
As others have said: exceptional music, exceptional atmosphere (unlike most M2 mods I actually feel 'absorbed' into the time period), beautiful units and banners (other mods REALLY need to use banners more), teaches you history, pretty map (many think the map does not look good but I think it looks nice), diplomacy is tough and important
cons: heavy cavalry dominates battles, foot archers are mostly useless, weak economy/expensive units force you to blitz, most factions have too many expansion options (rebels EVERYWHERE), generally forced to make horse armies as they are superior to infantry... due to foot soldiers taking forever to kill anything whilst HA and lancers can wreck armies in seconds, cannot sit back and enjoy field battles, not enough sieges
The reason I still play computer games is absolutelly BC--It is the only game I play--
Without Greece and some other Balkhan territory ERE and Turks seems less favourable to play with.
There is no religious conflict in muslim area which makes things easier than it was for Seljuks. They never COLLAPSE.
A little bit of more India should be included but of course with less god-like elephant warriors.
There should be a trade bonus for cities that located at historical trade routs.

i like all.
i dislike animation
strike distance
horse model
cons
Who can afford children in India? A pet is ok but the elephants......
Sindh unit roster
the AOR variety: many places you cant build even have simple levies: archers/spearmen
A bit lonely as a kipchak
pros
Superb mod , can compete in quality with SS and TATW
