Excecute Populace Excecutes my GAME!!

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help or at least say that they have had the same thing?

I was holding a city under seige and the occupiers decided to break their way out and they moved up Reinforcements.

I won a huge victory and killed 1006 comared to my losses of 102. I therefore took the city. However when I pressed the Excecute Pupulace Button (neede the cash) Rome just closed itself down!

Has anybody seen this before and if so does anyone know why and how to fix?

welcome to the forum!
this is strange... maybe it was the insallation... i dont know what could it be.. did you put on your comp any other mod or something? maybe it was just a coincidence. ... i am sorry if i am not in any help, but if you are keep having that problems maybe you should try to reinstall?

Yeah I thought that might be an option but I was hoping I could just download a fix or something!!
It seems strange that I have only just put 1.5 on there too. maybe it was the patch?

well maybe, but as far as i know 1.5 shouldnt make that error. i suggest to wait to see what others think about your problem. if you get no better solution, then i would reinstall

Hi and welcome to the forums.
Are you sure you installed 1.3 before 1.5? I dont think ive heard of this problem before but i think you should try and re-install. I wouldnt know how to help you otherwise though.

Has it done it several times ? If you load the game and execute the population again does it close again ?

Some times games im playing on my PC close them selves down some times. This nomally follows the computer trying to do something more.. strenuous , that it was before.

Ive also had RTW close sometimes when I click to fight a big battle or something.

A good point. I was off out at the time and just assumed it was a bug. Haven't tried it since......you may be right.

Yea it can do it if you have too much other stuff running or whether your computer just isnt up to it ( i assume... i dont know too mcu habout such things

)

My RTW sometimes closes when I play huge battles with three or more armies. Then it crashes to desktop really in the best part of the game...

Well, I have same problem too... it is not the problem of mod or pitch, nor your computer too. It is the problem of CD... I don't know, even I restall the game again, same thing still happen... I have two version of Total War. One is Asia version, another one is US version. My Asian version doesn't have any problem, but my US version one gpt a lot of problems...

Well I tried it again last night and it crashed again! - Twice but in different points
Once in a battle. and once on the campaign map when i was checking a generals scroll.

I have now reinstalled it and patched it to 1.2. I will try again tonight to see how it goes. Fingers crossed!!

what are your computer specs? RTW is VERY CPU intensive and if you play big battles or big battles back to back to back, the motherboard can get over heated and will cause the computer to either restart or CTD. To everyone that has a CTD during a battle in vanilla RTW - that is the problem. It happens mostly on SPQR mod but if you have a lower end computer vanilla can do it too. Try lowering the unit detail or unit scale. That may reduce CTD's
