    Default ANCILLARY OVERHAUL for MOS

    Welcome... This submod was created to improve the ancillary system of original TATW. The idea came from HotW and as all ideas it began on a small scale but with time things have grown and now, instead of having one release we decided to go faction by faction...

    Since i'm new to modding it took me some time until i got hang of things and i must say i wasn't alone in this process, many people helped me and showed me the way to go.

    And so after some time of work i'm proud to present you the MOS Team's Ancillary overhaul.


    High Elves
    Elven Houses

    Noss-en-Fingolfin
    by Hero of the West
    Desc: Fingolfin was son of Finwë and High king of Noldor after Feanor’s death. Members of this house have been some of the wisest and most powerful Elves in Middle-Earth.

    Hîr Noss Fingolfin
    by Maestro Ugo
    Desc:Lord of all Elves of Fingolfin’s House.

    Ringil
    by Maestro Ugo
    Desc: This is a sword of Fingolfin... With this sword Fingolfin wounded Morgoth seven times before he was finally defeated. It was believed that sword has been lost, but it has been found again so it can strike fear in the armies of Mordor.

    Amath Fingolfin
    by Maestro Ugo
    Desc: High King Fingolfin fought Morgoth with this shield. Although badly battered this shield still offers good protection and serves as beacon for Elves on battlefield.

    Noss-en-Feanor
    by Hero of the West
    Desc: House of Feanor is one of the most tragic ones in the entire history of Elves. Members of this house still bear scars from rebellion against Valars, killing other elves while leaving Valinor and many crimes committed fulfilling their oath. But this is also powerful and noble House of sworn enemies of Morgoth and his creatures.

    Desc: People of Feanor have chosen this elf as their leader.

    Tengwar
    by Maestro Ugo
    Desc:This book contains Feanor’s work on elvish alphabet. The tengwar was designed by Feanor in Valinor, but the elves took this book with them when they left.

    Curufinwë
    by Hero of the West
    Desc: Makers of the rings of power are long dead, but new fires burn in Eregion, and great crafts are being rediscovered.

    Noss-en-Finarfin
    by Hero of the West
    Desc: Finarfin was the only Elf lord that turned back when Mandos cursed Noldor after their crimes in Alqualondë. He was forgiven by the Valars and still rules his people in the city of Tirion in Aman .

    Tann Finarfin
    by Maestro Ugo
    Desc: Not all of Finarfin’s folk returned to Aman. They feared from punishment for kin slaying. Sad, Finarfin let them to go with other Noldor to Middle-Earth. As symbol of his love he gave them this banner to be their stronghold in times of need.

    Corf uin Finarfin

    Desc: When departing with some of his people, Finarfin left this ring also... It is beautiful bu it doesn’t posses any magical or other powers, however it was blessed by Valars so it gives calm, and hope to it’s bearer.

    Noss-en-Mallos

    Desc: House of Golden Flower was one of the seven houses of Gondolin. Some elves of this house managed to survive destruction of Gondolin. Carying great grief in their hearts they march against armies of Mordor.

    Desc: Lord of the House of the Golden flower.

    Magol uin Mallos

    Desc: This is a sword of the Guard of the House of the Golden Flower. Use it to strike fear in all creatures of Morgoth.

    Desc: This feather was given to Turgon of Gondolin by Thorondor himself. It is symbol of friendship between eagles and this house.

    Noss-en-Cirdan
    by Maestro Ugo
    Desc: Members of this house belong to the Teler tribe. They are great seamen and experienced fighters. Some of them, like Lord Cirdan have lived in Middle-Earth since the beginning of the First Age.

    Sern uin Balar Criss

    Desc: This beautiful pearls were Taken out from Gulf of Balar. They are the most prized of all the pearls in Middle-Earth.

    Tûr Falathrim
    by Maestro Ugo
    Desc: Falathrim is the name of the first sailors of Middle-Earth. They are known as the best sailors, and although their number is small, their skill is still great.

    Desc: Elven sailors have the sharpest eye in all Midlle-Earth.

    Desc: Elven generals are often accompanied by warriors whose task is to do whatever they can to keep the general alive.

    DOWNLOAD & INSTALLATION

    DOWNLOAD

    not available at the moment due to errors in submod

    INSTALLATION: download from the internet to YOUR DESKTOP, extract the file (again to your desktop). copy the data file to your Medieval2/mods/Third_Age_SP folder and overwrite everything. Also, before starting the game, run the File_Task as you would after installing MOS. Also, this isn't compatible with savegames, so i suggest starting new game.

    This submod is meant to be played with MOS 5.1. you can download MOS here:

    no, SE are done (concept) i only need to script them in and guys wiill have to do the pictures... then i might do gondor and rohen. eriador and arnor require more work but they will be done to...

    has anyone actually downloaded this and tried playing it? everything working ok?

    ive got a problem,
    not a ctd or anything but,
    I installed the files, and later when I loaded up my old Harad campaign everyone's ancillary have changed.
    No more black numenorian trait for the serpent king,
    Almost all generals have the Witch king's ring.
    Everyone has the smart fool trait.

    I backed up my files before installation and restored them but the messed up traits are still there.
    Any ideas on how to fix it?

    I installed the files, and later when I loaded up my old Harad campaign everyone's ancillary have changed.
    No more black numenorian trait for the serpent king,
    Almost all generals have the Witch king's ring.
    Everyone has the smart fool trait.

    I backed up my files before installation and restored them but the messed up traits are still there.

    well, i didn't touch any of that stuff... especially not the traits system... however it is possible that there is issue with savegame compatibility, or to beeter say it this way: this isn't save game compatible... so, you should start a new campaign.... in fact do so and see if you have the same problem again. if so, then i will check the code, altough i repeat again: I HAVEN'T TOUCHED ANY OF THE STUFF YOU DESCRIBED... however i'm sorry that this problem occured...

    no problem.
    the generals of Harad are now very powerful (witchking's ring) and very foolishly looking and smart

    I checked, when starting a new game nothing is wrong and everything works, all the ancillary for the harad generals are correct, so its not save game compatible(i think).

    Nothing wrong with the actual submod, i just think its not save game compatible.

    Actually I find a nice way to counter the save-game problem.
    Put all the new ancillaries behind the OOMMs. (as they're the last in the data)
    I think it's about some 'number' problem, maybe the saves only record the 'number' of ancillaries, not the actually 'name'.
    Putting all the news in the last will avoid the problem of changing the sequence of the orinigal things.

    nice and promising little mod, Minas Moth.
    Actually I would really like to use such things for 3.0, but to be honest, I doubt a little that this has been really tested, balanced and if everything is working as intended.
    I just have had a very brief look at the files and I recognized that all triggers have the same name, hence this mod can't work properly.

    @sedious,
    ancillary and trait mods are never save-game compatible, therefore you get those wrong ancillaries.

    got back from class and reinstalled the sub-mod and started a brand new campaign,
    no problems!
