Default Forum Re-Structuring after Patch 2.2

After carefully observing the actual forum structure I feel its a bit messed up...

I suggest a restructuring for/after patch 2.2 for the subforum structure but lets analize the actual setting:

At the moment there is the following structure for the subforums

    Code:
    > Dev Forum
    > Dev 2
    > RS Beta
    > Roma Surrectum I
    > RSII Previews
    > RSII Technical help
    > RSII Submods
    > RSII Multiplayer
    > AARs
    1. Dev Forum does pretty much nothing and Dev and Dev 2 could be merged or Dev 1 could become a sticky in Dev 2 or whatever...either way...MERGING !!
    2. Dev 2...look point 1
    3. RS Beta...well...there is is
    4. Roma Surrectum I ...there it is
    5. RSII Previews...while interesting back then it has entirely lost its purpose and could become a Sticky within Roma Surrectum I Forum
    6. RSII Technical help...ok
    7. RSII Submods..there they are
    8. RSII Multiplayer...ok
    9. AAR...delete

I suggest the following new structure

    Code:
    > RSII Developer (Renamed Dev 2) and sticky Dev Forum inside
    > RSII Beta
    > Roma Surrectum I (RSII Previes sticky within this forum)
    > RSII Technical Help
    > RSII Submods
    > RSII Multiplayer
    > RSII Campaigns (Sticky only forum feat the following stickys:
                            > One Turn Campaigns
                            > Armenia
                            > Avernii
                            > Belgae
                            > Boii
                            > Cathage
                            > Cimbri
                            > Dacia
                            > Gallaeci
                            > Greek City States
                            > Macedon
                            > Parthia
                            > Pergamon
                            > Pontus
                            > Ptolemaic Empire
                            > Rome
                            > Rome One Turn
                            > Sarmatia
                            > Scythia
                            > Seleucid
                            > Sparta
                            > Five Good Emperors
                            > Bosporus ?
                            > ????????
The visible sub-forums are now down to 5 which allows for more patfinding for new people and the overall number is down to 7 instead of 9, getting rid of some of the overweight...

The sticky campaigns forum can/will be very useful to add new campaigns, post campaign specific info and more important would allow campaign specific update as the first post could be used to post updated modfolder which would allow for specific campaign update, hotifxes or content add without need for making a general patch...Which basicly would allow RSII to be a dynamic work in progress project with open end and maybe some more campaigns anytime in the future...I feel that this setting would be of some advantage over the current one however Iam not sure about open stickys for campaign specific discussion ...any thoughts on that ?

Another thing which catched my attention is the never ending incoming of repeating questions about CTDs or other known things...there is some sticky about known issues and stuff but its pretty much useless as the info is not clear and spread all over the place...there is no real FAQ which could avoid at least 20% of the posts in the technical help forum and countless topics in the main forum...
same goes for the download of the mod...its hidden in the release thread where nobody finds it and dozens of posts about "where to download" confirm the impression...
There MUST be a sticky containing ONLY the download links and it should be called DOWNLOAD RSII and it MUST BE STICKY IN THE MAIN FORUM...btw..I think 2 of the links are dead...
Same goes for a comprehensive known issues LIST/FAQ in the TECH HELP Forum

well..that was this..any objections, thoughts, rants or moans ?

To answer the links question. They are buried in the release thread because users should read it. I'm renaming the thread title so it's easier to find it.

I know apple ...and I do understand the purpose and the links can remain there for those who read it
However...poeple are ignorant and with all due respect..some are to lazy and some others are simply not sharp enough to put just 2 buckets into one line so its actually quite a task for a fair amount of guys to find the links...so it might worth a thought to think about a seperate sticky on the Top of the Forum...

Getting customers is almost as important as doing good work...otherwise the work is in vain, isnt it?

i agree with some of your points chris
