Default CTD - The game exits to desktop

Playing as the WRE, when I press the end turn button, every faction starts making its moves but when the time comes for the Sassanids to do so, the game exits to desktop.

I'll upload the save here so that someone can look into this.

"Steps to be taken in case Russia should be forced out of war considered. Various movements [of ] troops to and from different fronts necessary to meeting possible contingencies discussed. Conference also weighed political, economic, and moral effect both upon Central and Allied powers under most unfavorable aspect from Allied point of view. General conclusions reached were necessity for adoption of purely defensive attitude on all secondary fronts and withdrawing surplus troops for duty on western front. By thus strengthening western front [those attending] believed Allies could hold until American forces arrive in numbers sufficient to gain ascendancy."

I had the problem in RIo's IBFD IV. I'm not sure what causes it but for me I'm pretty sure it's my computer.
Also I think the 4tpy script is behind it.

My pc can handle IB pretty easily and I've been playing for something like 30-40 turns without encountering any problems. I suspect that the Sassanids are ready to capture a city or something like that and the game crashes.

I dunno, as I said in Rio's game it was the 4tpy (in your case 12tpy) script.

Wait, I thought I had the 4tpy, no? Btw, how do you see my campaign if you tried it? Am I doing well?

The traits/ancillaries and script files have all been checked using the appropriate validation tools and none report any errors.

But that doesn't mean errors don't occur form time to time with possible conflicting traits for example.

    What I always do is:

    1. Keep a copy of your campaign after so many moves as a base in case a potential fatal CTD occurs. Then you can go back and try things differently to see if that gets around it.

    2. What I also try when I get a CTD like this is to load the game again and not activate the script for at least that turn and see if it gets around the CTD, then say, the following turn activate the script and carry on.

But you were saying that you have gone thru 30 turns without a problem? That is great.

    Cheers

I just tried what you said, with the script turned off and it worked. Thanks a lot. I didn't expect this was the problem.

As for other problems, the only ones I've encountered so far is when a large battle occurs in the city I'm besieging and the outcome is victory for my troops and destruction of the troops inside the city I'm besieging. At the loading which will take me back to the map and show me I took the city, the game crashes to desktop. But other than that the other battles, even if they are huge never end in CTD's.

Glad to hear it. I always keep that as my back up; the don't activate script for a turn.

Yes, I've heard about this type of problem before. When you annihilate the opposition in beseiging it can sometimes cause CTDs. I don't know why. Some say it has something to do with where the city is placed on the campaign map. Does it happen only with besieging, and does it involve the enemy having reinforcements?

As far as I remember it happened only with besieging settlement battles (and not when I was the one assaulting the settlement but when the enemy came to reinforce his besieged allies). Also, I've tried many times the "save before a battle" which was said to cause CTD's in the previous versions but I had no problems at all when I did save before a huge battle.
