    Default Fatal Graphics Error-PLEASE HELP!!

    Hello,
    I need some help. Every time I try running MTW2 through steam on my computer I get the error "Fatal Graphics Error...normally caused by setting graphics too high...etc"
    Here are the steps I have taken to try solving the problem (not in any particular order):
    1. disabling UAC
    2. deleting medieval.preferences.cfg
    3. downloaded latest dx9.0c files for win7.
    4. updated my drivers for my graphics card.
    5. selecting steam and/or medieval 2 to run under Win Xp compatibility mode with "run as administrator" checked off. tried selecting vista option as well.
    6. restarting my computer.
    7. changing my desktop resolution and effects to a lower setting.
    8. Reinstalling mtw2 after deleting the entire folder.
    9. Installed latest windows update

    I have tried various combinations of these steps but i still can't start the game and keep getting the error message.
    Here are my computer specs:
    AMD Phenom II 955 Quad Core 3.2GHZ
    8 gig ram DDR3
    ATI HD 6570 with 1 gig dedicated memory.
    Win7 home premium 64-bit

    Also, I have been able to run RTW with mods with no problems along with Shogun 2.
    My laptop running 32-bit Vista runs MTW2 with no problems.
    Its specs are"
    Intel Core 2 Duo T5750 2.0GHZ
    3 gig ram
    Ati Mobility HD2600 512mb.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. This problem has been mentioned before in previous threads but the solutions haven't worked for me.

    Ask Sega support and search Steam support is all I can say. I have no reason for it.

    I looked in my medieval.preference.cfg file and it says:

    widescreen=0
    [game]
    allusers=1

    Is this normal?
