Default Should Troy:Total war be like the movie

Yes.I think it should be like the movie.
Now i am not talking about the story. The movie had some great locations and sets(especially the walls of troy).I think it should be the same in Troy total war.The walls should be given more detail and i think it would be great.
What does others have to say.

How can a game is like The movie?? I'm against since the movie did not include many archeological discoveries on the real troy and in the hittite archives. You can use the movie for visual sources but not more.

I didn't mean that it should be exactly like the movie.I am mainly talking about the location of the movie(superb beach and battlefield).Regarding the movie clips,it would be very nice...But will warner bros allow that?

No they won't, lets be realistic. Also we can't edit beaches etc and the mod is already as artistically finished as it will ever be.

Will the game include music from the movie?

Doing so would be copywrite issue.

How can it be a copyright issue if the mod is not being used for any profit? Many people don't understand the system. And would they really care, or even hear about this mod that uses their music?

I agree with you.It would be really nice to see the music of the movie in this game. One of the few things that the movie succeeds is in music department. The music really captured the feel of the era.

Because it's their property and it's illegal to distribute it without there permission. There was a music mod called the CC lite music mod which contained various tracks from hollywood films. It was being hosted here at TWC for a short time but because of copywrite issues, it was removed from TWC's database.

Isn't Rome:TW the property of creative assembly? You are changing the content of something that belongs to creative assembly.Did you get the permission from the developers? If so,why don't you do the same for the music and video clips of the movie?

Developers let modding go on because it boosts the popularity of their game and increases its life time without them having to do any work.

Regarding the music we did have some music based off movies that we were going to use, however we didn't want to get busted by supplying mp3s in our downloads because it is against international copywrite laws, so we decided against the idea a number of months ago.

The only link to the movie that the mod has is the artistic likeness of a few of the units and unit classes to those that were in the movie... and a few of the actors . Both of those are very much marmite things for the fans, hence the two versions of achillies. For all those people from america etc who don't know what that is...... too bad lol.

Haven't you learned... No one on this forum will ever like a war movie unless it is 100% accurate to the source.

I still think Troy was a good movie. I don't pay much attention to the accuracy, but mostly the cinematography. Though it isn't the best, it has my favorite battle scenes.

The purpose of a movie is to be entertaining, and in that Troy met its objectives. I thought it was great, especially the battle scenes and cinematogrphy.

Oliver Stone's Alexander, on the other hand, sucked big time. It was boring - the worst sin a movie can commit, and the battle scenes were mediocre. I did like Val Kilmer as Phillip and especially Angelina Jolie

Say, could TTW base an Amazon model off Angelina? Must be scantily clad to be acceptable, though.

I also thought the movie was good but not great as it should have been. It's just like Hollywood to take an epic story, which has everything you need to make a good epic movie, and mess it up. It’s the same thing with "Alexander". They just have the wrong people making those movies.

Even i liked the battle scenes very much.It is as good as lord of the rings. One thing that makes this memorable is its sets(i will never forget that wall and the trojan horse). The atmosphere is pretty and bright. But the performances were a bit poor.Brad pitt's acting was not consistent.Sometimes he acts well sometimes vey poor. But eric bana was awesome. He was born to do that role.I expected him to get the oscar, but didn't even got nominated.

Regarding alexander-The movie was historically accurate, even the battle scenes of the persian war. They showed it exactly as alexander did,but failed to entertain. But i think the ending was good.(i mean the war in india).

I think Troy and Alexander should of had their crewes switched around. Troy was centered too much on action instead of the amazing story,

While Alexander, being a story that had numerous battles and action, was focused more on a less entertaining story.

...If you kind of see what im talking about, they both had the right ideas for the wrong movies.

Yes, i know what you mean. The action in Alexander was also quite hard to follow for the main battle and not very intense.
