Game lags alot.

Hey everyone, am not a big expert when it comes to computers, but I think my pc is ok for Shogun 2, and still I get a lot of lag when I play.
I was wondering if someone would be so kind to help me out with my problem.
My pc specs are:
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit.
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Quad CPU Q9559 @ 2.83Ghz (4CPUs)
Memory: 8192 MB RAM
DiretctX Version: DirectX 11

Graphic card. NVIDIA GeForce GTX 295
Chip Type: Nvxx
DAC Type: Integrated RAMDC
Memory: 4069 MB

(Just upgraded to the newest driver)

Even when I play at normal graphic quality I get massive lag in the game, if someone have any tips on what I can do it would be greatly appreciated.

How long ago did you upgrade to Win 7?

Did you install the motherboard chipset drivers for Win 7?

well as ron suggest make sure things like chipset drivers are up to date. also all of the service packs/net frameworks.

clean out in safe mode current drivers http://downloads.guru3d.com/Guru3D--...load-1655.html

then use some drivers here http://forums.guru3d.com/forumdisplay.php?f=21 (newest might not be best).

whats your res? 295 is a tricky customer in regards sli. i'd speak to a member brusilov here as he seems to be able to get the game working well. (i owned a 295 and gave up on it with empire)

cpu @stock is a bottleneck (perhaps a good 15fps)
