yari samurai - spears units..how?

hello..

Im playing as the shosokabe clan, my small campaign.. started in Tosa province and i notice that since early in the game.. after couple or more years after ugrades here and there.after i did my fortress.. i was able to build samurai guys.. with bows and swords.. ie,, shosokable bow samurai and katana samurai. but was unable to get samurai guys with spears..(Yari samurai) after many years later of upgrades.

When i capture the east side province..Awa province .that have horses resources..
also have a fortress.. i notice the Spear samurais (Yari samurai) are already recruitable there. The fortress
have a yari drill yard.. also their units are somewhat diferent too.. they have horses units.. which can be understood..
but also have some diferent ones others on foot..

the questions are..

1)How can i make.. Yari Samurai recruitable on my first province.(Tosa) ?
since i see no option option to build a yari drill yard..

2)are there units that are exclusive to some provinces only? that are not recruitable
ever in some others provinces?

1) Demolish one of your buildings and build a Yari drill yard.

When building keep in mind that having two buildings in the same province can have good advantages. For instance: Naginata Dojo + Monastery lets you train Naginata Warrior Monks, whereas Katana Dojo + Warhorse stables lets you build Katana Cav. Keep this in mind when planning your buildings as well as the special resources within that settlement (For instance Horse breeders give a charge bonus to Cavalry that are trained in that settlement so you should build your Stables there).

2) No, but you do need superior horses to recruit warhorses. You can get them by taking provinces that already have them or through trade, without them you can only recruit light cav.

So those examples 2buildings Combo's are the best most have ones
in same province?

Naginata Dojo + mon and katana dojo +warhorses?

also having food problems.. is building farms the only way to fix the food negative
numbers? was thinking .. (just now though of it) that destroying a building somewhere my help abit..

To help with your food problem you need to make sure you have enough farms before you upgrade your castles & markets because they consume food.

Don't just build and upgrade just because you can, plan your infrastructure.
