*Using the Shogun 2 Realism mod*

So it was 1:30 am, and i was defending my city with a few ashigaru (did i butcher that word?) and bomb throwers, against a much larger mainly archer AI force, not expecting to win, just to kill as many as possible before my reinforcement army arrived.

As the battle raged on, my heart started pounding and i started to hold my breath, because i was WINNING! And i was winning with !!6!! units left! Those six units (general and 2 bodyguards + 3 garrison samurai) were able to finnaly puch back the last of the enemy, and i snapped some pics as proof.

And that my friend is why the Hojo are awesome. Great victory, I love defending in siege battles.

Good stuff, maybe it's me, but I find if you dismount your general in circumstances like this they perform better.

Considering there's hardly any room to charge, I reckon they do. I always dismount.

I always dismount them, since otherwise they can't hide behind a wall. The AI loves to use its archers on your general.

Depending on how many archers they have and how intense the battle is, I'll just run my general around dodging the arrows.

You mean "6 soldiers"! You should get a hard time the next rounds though, better start building up an invasion army to take use of your victory.

The garrison samurai are awesome i managed to hold off a force of over 500 yari and bow ashigaru with nothing but the 45 samurai retainers. Luckily the bowmen came from the opposite direction as the spears so i ran over to the spear side and hacked em up as they came over, then when they all dead charged back just in time to catch the archers coming over the wall. Got sumin like 300 kills to 15 deaths
