Skins...
Hi. ANybody have a tutorial on skins?
I used xpak. I got the paks to become dds files. Used nvidias plugin, put the files in photoshop. Saved the file. Went to descr_mil_batl or something and changed the line to data\textures\******.tga.dds
Made a new folder called textures. Put the tga.dds in it.
Game crashes when I open a map with those soldiers in it.
Any help?

May i sugges you use -show_err. Right click on the RTW shortcut on your desktop. Select properties then editt he target line so it looks like this(just add the end bit to whats already there):
"C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\RomeTW.exe" -show_err
Then load RTW using the shortcut, load a battle with soldiers using the new skins, and it should give you an error message. POst the error message here.

OK did that, but still never got a problem response, just a windows message "rome total war needs to close" "has encountered some problem" etc
Well again, I have edited descr_model_battle, have put
data/models_unit/textures/unit_peltast_heg.TGA.dds
for the corresponding model.
I went to data, models_unit, there was no textures folder there. I made a new folder, called it textures. Put my file in it and the file is called unit_peltast_heg.tga.dds
Went in game, while battle is loading it crashes. I'm sure im doing something very simple, wrong.
http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=40557
Error says:
Battle Loading CTDs:
- A unit with the attribute mercenary_unit in EDU that has no texture line for "merc" in the soldier, officer, and other related models found in DMB.
- A non-mercenary_unit in EDU that has no texture line in DMB for any faction given ownership of the unit in EDU, for the soldier, officer, and other related models.
- A sprite defined in DMB with no distance value.
What do I do -.-;;
Double post merged. Please use the edit button in future.

texture greek_cities,
data/models_unit/textures/unit_peltast_heg.TGA.dds
remove the .dds part at the end, this will fix it.
