Just posted another chapter of Wings, after...1.5 years.

I can't promise frequent updates, but it seems that's not a unique problem these days. Let's see what happens.

I'm going to have to delete that as a necropost I'm afraid.

Looking forward to giving it a read.

Hi guys, we just wanted to let you know that we have made some rule changes to the MAARC and MCWC competitions. You can read the new rules in this thread, and if you have any questions or feedback then please post them here.

The new rules will come in effect for both the next MAARC and MCWC which will be up in a weeks time, so we just wanted to give you a heads up so you have a chance to read through them and have any questions answered.

I've been planning a project for myself and there is no better place to house its location than TWC's writer study. If I were to open a thread and occasionally update it with short stories I write where would be the best place to put it? (sounds eerily similar to ToTw but I would use some type of generator to produce themes/plots to write about)

Come guys, get entering our competitions - you only need two updates in the month and I know for a fact multiple AARs and stories have had at least 2 updates but still haven't entered!

Do you not like us anymore?

Hey everyone, how's it going? Remember those AARs wherein someone would turtle in Britain and watch the world develop? I think I'm going to do one of those while I collect myself and my thoughts; I've been quite busy in real life

Hey waveman, it's going well here. I've seen those kinds of AARs. I agree that looking back at older AARs can be a good way to get inspiration for writing a new story. There could be all kinds of styles of writing which have fallen out of fashion and which could be revived. For example, migration AARs used to be popular (of course, Lugotorix's Vandalarius: the One Sword of the Romano-Gothic Empire includes a migration, so maybe migration AARs are still more popular than I realised).

My personal favorite migration AAR was Taking Back Europe From the Timmys (Timurids) Mine was an accidental migration it was my second time playing and I was unprepared for the Huns (and you know, Attila just wouldn't die). To those concerned, the AAR is [Completed] and can enter the annals of finished AARs. I'll be tidying up- perhaps condensing images and indexes into spoilers.

One of the first AARs I ever read (as far as I can remember ) before I registered was a migration AAR. I think the author took Sicily to Edessa and had a rule that he could only have that one province for the entire game. That could be good a premise for an AAR if you are looking for something that has been done in a while, as far as I know anyway.

Congratulations to Geoffrey of Villehardouin and waveman on taking 1st and 2nd place in the MAARC LXVI!

The submissions and nominations thread is now open for the MAARC LXVII. Every AAR with two updates since October 1 (except for AARs by the 1st-place winner of the previous MAARC) qualifies to enter. Entering the MAARC can be a good way to attract readers to your AAR, even if you do not win.

The Inkwell is now open! Our newest area is a place for writers to put our 'library' threads. Every writer on TWC is welcome to start your own thread in the Inkwell - one thread per writer. You can use this thread to provide links to all of your writings in one place; you can add information about each of your AARs, creative writing and other projects on your library thread, if you would like to. If you are not sure what to write in your library thread, look at some of the threads which are already there for examples to follow. Thanks to Rabbit55821 for proposing the creation of our newest sub-forum! If anyone has any questions, just ask by posting on this thread.

I am excited to report that the Scriptorium Writing Competition 2016 has begun! For more information, click on the Scriptorium Writing Comp bar in my signature, below.

Meanwhile, AAR writers with two updates (or more) since the start of October are invited to enter the MAARC LXVII.

Also, have you seen the group writing project in the Creative Writing sub-forum? It is not too late to join this new initiative.
