Is anyone tempted to get anything in the Sega sale on Steam?

I'm considering Three Kingdoms, Remastered and Troy, which are on sale - if you've played them, any thoughts on using them for AARs?

I purchased Troy and the DLCs last week. Playing a Mythos campaign now, should be good material for an AAR. I haven't written one in ages, might give it a try.

My fellow readers and writers, the Writers' Study Yearly Awards have begun, and this year we have a new category!

I look forward to seeing who will be nominated, and who will submit an entry.

I'm looking forward to this too, especially to seeing what people will do with the new category.

There's still time to nominate your favourite AARs and creative writing for the Writers' Study Yearly Awards, and to enter the Tale of the Year competition.

Thanks, Flinn! I like rule 11 and will try rule 12, that looks like a nice challenge!

I’m trying to find a specific thread and don’t know really where to look. I’m trying to find the results thread from the Scriptorium 2014 Winter Competition. Can any of you guys point me in the right direction?

Have you tried looking in Questions & Suggestions? If not, it's possible the thread might be there. I'll try to have a look myself, if I get time today, but Q&S would be my first suggestion.

Edit: In fact the results are in this Scriptorium Editorial.

Today's other news is that I've been given permission by the WS Director to extend the nomination period for the WS Yearly Awards. You now have until the 28th November to make your nominations!

I know the writers of the WS appreciate being nominated, so it would be great to see more nominations supporting more of our writers.

I have put a submission in for TOTW 299 that has laid dormant for 8 months. I’ve lobbied a few others who may put in submissions in the next few days as well to see if we can resurrect it. If anyone who is actually lurking here would like to also submit, the link is here https://www.twcenter.net/forums/show...ISSIONS-THREAD

Additionally it may take me a few days but I’m slowly working my way through the awards submissions and general active works in the CW section before making my vote. I’m a few chapters in Leandros’ work as well as BagaturSasha’s. If any lurkers are around and have an interest in Creative Writing we’d love to have your input in here.

I was here briefly some years ago. Unfortunately I could never get a persistent routine to write going, and my capacity for creative writing reliably has only sunk since then. But I do still keep an eye here, and perhaps if something catches my eye I'll be able to throw something in once again.

@Commodus: TOTW is only a 200-500 word requirement and could be a very light effort to get back into it

Thanks to ggggtotalwarrior for getting Tale of the Week back on its feet, and to Akar and Kilo for joining the competition. We now have enough entries to run TotW 299, so voting will begin fairly soon - if anyone else would like to enter, please add your tale today.

Meanwhile, thanks to everyone who voted already in the Writers' Study Yearly Awards - if you haven't voted, please do.

Thanks to Greg indeed, he was the one who whipped Kilo and I into line to make our submissions.

Voting for the Yearly Awards will last at least three weeks. Polls opened on December 3, so you have at least until Christmas Eve. Thanks to everyone who has already voted in the Yearly Awards - if you haven't done this yet, you're invited to vote.

The poll for Tale of the Week 299: The Emperor and the Child is up, so please vote!

Meanwhile, we have three new AARs in the Medieval II AARs forum, it would be great to see more comments on them and the ongoing writing around the Study (for example in Creative Writing).

If you're a first-time AAR writer or considering starting an AAR, you might be interested in Critic's Quill articles, such as Writing an AAR: Ten things you can do. Also, if you're interested in an AAR writing competition, the MAARC XC is available for entries.

To add to what Alwyn said, it's unlikely that voting will close immediately at the end of 24th December, because I suspect quite a few people (including me) will be busy with other things for a few days around that time!
