It'd be a fortnightly/monthly thing which is why I was wondering whether a blog might be best rather than that thread. Eh I'll just finish the book I'm reading at the moment (which is disappointingly ), wait until the 22nd when about 12 books from a variety of series should be arriving and then start on it.

I dunno really what I'd talk about, I guess my limited grasp of how important writing style, world building, POV and stuff like that is (most of the books I read are fantasy). I might do a re-read of the first three out of ten Malazan Books of the Fallen since they were a nice self-contained story within the best series I've ever read.

That sounds interesting, Caligula. I'll look forward to it.

Shankbot, you're even later than this year's Reading List, which is something of an achievement! Happy New Year!

And welcome back, Tigellinus. I'm fine, thank you. How are you?

Hi Caligula, Shankbot and Tigellinus, it's good to see you here! Caillagh mentioned this year's Reading List, which is available on the 'Articles' tab (above the list of forums) in the 'Critic's Quill' area (or you can follow the link from the Log Book thread, here in the Lounge).

Everyone, please don't forget to make your nominations for the Writers' Study Yearly Awards as well as the TWC Member Awards! Also, you are invited to vote in the MAARC LXXIII and enter the MCWC XVII (if you have creative writing which qualifies).

Hey, kingofsamurai! I'm okay thanks, how are you?

I hope that you post your writing too! You mentioned on another thread that you have several story ideas, I wonder if you are planning an AAR or creative writing.

I had plans here, but unfortunately my interest has more or less fled. My last entry into TotW will probably be my last entry into this forum section. But, good luck and good writing to all.

It might be waiting for mod approval, yes. (It's impossible for me to be sure, of course, because I'm not a Moderator. )

I believe if you try to post certain combinations of words, or some links, before you have four posts, this happens automatically. It's an anti-spam feature, so it's nothing personal.

(You may find this thread useful - it's full of handy information including the detail above.)

CommodusIV, we'll be sorry to lose you. Speaking for myself, I always look forward to seeing your posts. I'll hope for your return at some point in the future.

Thanks, Caillagh, for answering the question about moderator approval. Shankbot's Unofficial Guide for New Members is well worth reading!

CommodusIV, I'm sorry to hear that, I hope that you will consider returning in future. Good luck!

Best of luck to you with whatever your future plans are. If your interest returns, please stop by and at least give us a wave!

I see your first post (ancient history from way back in 2017 -- pardon the pun) was about a problem with Rome2 -- I hope you will want to write a bite about it in either Creative writing or as an AAR

    Shankbot did the current version.

Of course the glorious Shankbot made that, who else I ask?!

Something else, has anyone here ever tried to write an autobiography on him or herself?

Outside of school "personal narrative" projects, I have not... I assume you're considering it?

Boy , I would hate to plug my own writing... The Cat Tails thread might in some manner be deemed semi-autobiographic. We all insert a bit of ourselves in our writing even when we not aware we are doing so. But the more obvious literal bio I have never and would never attempt. Self critical examination is fine, but that would be too intense. Maybe if I had lived a different life without the numerous mess ups and failures, perhaps. Nope. I cannot think it would ever happen. If my friends and relatives do not know it, I could not ever write it down. I could never be honest enough.

I have been a bit in the dumps since the holidays. This Cat Tails in the thread post #11 is quite a bit late to the forum. Before you ask, I am felling better now. This is a different Cat Tails post #11 where we have dialogue between some of the human characters in the tale. It is a bit of an experiment. Tell me what works better for you the reader -- human dialogue or just the thoughts of the writer with action of only the cats. You are also allowed to think both work or both do not work for you.

(Playing with some links and seeing what grammar works best -- sorry)
