That said they missed several conspirators for understandable reasons given the time and I think it came down to whether they wanted to make a full drama or given everyone already knows the ending anyway - stick to the important people/events. Personally I think I'd have preferred the former but I think they achieved what they wanted pretty well.
It does sound as if they could have done it better with a few more episodes...

    *Meteorological, in fact.
It's always good to see an entry from you in TotW - thank you for entering.

I'm intrigued by the meteorological nature of your plot-hole!

Aye I wasn't quite sure what to think, the pace of it makes me think a few more episodes would have been better for sure.

Thank you! It can serve as an interesting writing prompt when you your inspiration is running low.

Basically, I need two sea voyages to happen at the same time. The thing is, the way the winds work in that part of my world, one of them must be impossible for the other to be possible. I could go ignore the climate, but it's already been established and has been an important part of the story. I have some ideas on how to do it, but it will always involve rewriting one or two lines in one of the previous chapters.

Have the first chapter of an aar saved onto word, not sure whether I have the motivation to continue with it, though. I'll see about writing some more and I guess if I enjoy it I may as well upload it here

If you want -- pm the copy to people you trust to have a critical opinion. Who knows. What you think may not be what others think. There is a value in having an editor or publisher in between the writer and the readers.

Motivation is always a tricky thing, I think. I hope it turns out you do enjoy the writing, and we get to see it.

Like Caillagh, General Brewster and NorseThing, I hope that you'll find the motivation to continue with your AAR, Gandalf.

Meanwhile, everyone is invited to vote for your two favourite AARs in the MAARC and your favourite story in Tale of the Week - and to enter the new Tale of the Week competition.

I'll see if I can get it polished up and put up on here in the next few days. I'm used to 'writing', as I spend a lot of time on the RP subforum, but find it a little more difficult to write a narrative story.

Recently i have been working on my issues with insecurity.I am sure that in the past i have offended or troubled all of you.Maybe its another effect of my first ever participating on a social networking site.I wont say no more.Maybe my new girlfriend will help to cure me.Please try reading my stories atleast once,a good reader likes all settings.I read most of your stories, why dont you try reading atleast half?
Not directed at any particular person but at the regulars of WS.

Meanwhile, here is a great paragraph i found in a TWC users signature.

Dominion of Dust. A city of sand. Built your world of nothing. So how long did it stand?
A 100 years? Now wasn't it grand? Built your world of nothing. How long did it stand?
What did you think would happen? When did you think it would all fall down?
Domain of dust in a land of sand. Did yourself right, so let's feel grand.
Domain of dust in a land of sand. Now there's nowhere left to stand.

As a lurker, I don't think you particularly need a cure for anything. I can't agree that a good reader likes all settings; sometimes, preference is simply a thing when it comes to reading. I tend to stray from sci-fi contexts, for example, because they simply don't interest me as compared to alternatives.

As it happens, my Most Extremely Revered Patron, I might have a suggestion for something you could write...

(It'd be great to see anything from you, obviously. )

    Also, yeah, me too.

    No comment. (eventually!)

Even the story of an incredibly boring person on an incredibly boring quest?

Oh, go on. We all know you'd put some interesting stuff in just to keep yourself interested!

And what do you mean 'eventually'? It's already 'eventually'!

Ah,now i got my problem,i write and start many stories at once so none of them are developed enough to compete with the other submissions in competitions,it feels great to see my problem after all.Hence i have decided to concentrate only on 'Blood and Diamonds.'

The newest article by the Writers' Study and Critic's Quill is a review of An Orcs Tale by Maltacus and Dreadbolt by Alavaria; you can find it here.

Man, I'd enjoy reading something you wrote! I wonder whether you would prefer to continue a previous story or write something new?

I think you're right, mad orc. Concentrating on one story tends to work better. It allows more time for editing. For example, last weekend I wrote a new chapter of my Iceni AAR, Andraste's Children. This weekend, I re-wrote that chapter from a blank page, keeping just one idea from the previous version. That amount of editing would have been harder to do, if I was writing other AARs or Creative Writing.

Here's a (hopefully simplified enough) oddity of a concept.

    > Pick all factions in a medieval 2 hotseat, perhaps in a mod, or even in the vanilla campaign with minor tweaks for hotseat not breaking
    > Deselect all factions
    > Let the game play for 100-150 turns
    > Pick a faction
    > Learn the faction, create a history, justify its current position, etc
    > Select a young character and make an AAR for his life history.

CommodusIV, that sounds like a good idea, to watch what the factions do for a long time and then to jump into the campaign and to tell the story of a character. If you write this AAR, I look forward to reading it!

Meanwhile, everyone is warmly invited to participate in the Scriptorium Writing Competition 2017, Tale of the Week 268: Heavy Cruiser and, if you have a qualifying AAR or story, the MAARC or MCWC. Comments on our proposed arrangements for the Writers' Study Yearly Awards are welcome, too.
