@Flinn: Are those poems you have that you could post to the current occasional competition? If so, I agree with Akar that the second one sounds intriguing!

It looks like you just only get Far Cry 5 free for the weekend, but there's a discount if you'd like to keep it afterwards.

tell me which intrigues you the most, thanks
They all sound great, I agree with Akar and Kilo11 that the second sounds the most mysterious.

I wonder if anyone is taking advantage of the Skulls for the Skull Throne discounts for Total War: Warhammer and Warhammer II (until 1 June). We haven't had many After Action Reports using those games, it would be good to see more.

I've bought the missing DLC for the Warhammers (apart from beastmen and wood elves, I'm not too into them at the current state of the game), I've got some ideas I might try out after my exams are finished

they are actually works of mine that I had only started with few lines/a chapter.. I don't know if I'll ever have time to write them (remember that I'm not a mother language, writing in English is a double effort for me).. I was just asking to know which could look more interesting...

actually they are meant to be short novels, the first one being a horror one, the second a science fiction and the last a philosophical one.. I agree that the second is probably the most interesting and even the easiest to write, I'll see what I can do in the future...

    thanks everybody for the input

It would be great to see more entries in Writers' Study competitions, here's a reminder of our current ones. Most of them need just one more entry for the competition to run.

Tale of the Week 296: Hero of the Hour

    MAARC LXXXVI

The Third Writers' Study Occasional Competition: Poetry Night

I am not sure I myself want to nominate my AAR, but if anyone else would like to see it in the MAARC, I freely give my permission for you to nominate it. Also, Derc seems to have started up again, so there's a good chance he'll join the mix shortly

    Hey there fellow writers,

Does anyone here have experienced with Wattpad? How do you effectively promote your story within Wattpad from the millions posted there?

I have never heard of that site before, but from briefly looking it over, it does indeed seem interesting. Does anyone have experience or information about it? I for one would love to know more!

Wattpad is a very popular story / writing / novel sharing website, it's the first place a lot of fan-fiction fans go to. If I'm not mistaken it's actually number 1 in terms of writing on the web, with a huge amount of traffic.

So yeah, getting popular on Wattpad is a good shot forwards.

Do you have any idea how copyright works on there? Like, by publishing a story on there, do writers transfer rights to Wattpad, or is it explicitly the case that you retain control of your own work?

    Wholesome reply of the day

We won't leave this place, of course not, but some of us want to promote our work, get more feedback and basically get more readers

We now have five entries for the MAARC. Just one more entry will allow us to run a full competition!

If you haven't already entered, now seems like a great time to do that!
