    Default AI and arty

Ok so ive always seen the AI spam arty but for the very 1st time ever ive actually seen the AI use it decently witch would be ok if there was just 2-3 units of arty but the enemy army used 6 units of trebuchets and magnoels... Witch by the way I almost lost the campaign since i couldnt defend my settlements from a stack of spear militia and 5-6 units of arty. what i want to know is how in the world ar the world are the Moors recruiting magnoels and trebuchets in Cordoba when i can barely recruit catapults in Lisbon.

The AI gets a huge population growth bonus for all of this settlements so its able to get things faster then you are. Annoying, I know.

Cordoba starts with large stone walls so Moors can start siege workshop construction (for trebuchets and mangonels) off the bat while Lisbon has stone walls offering you catapult maker at best. Im talking about late era of course.

I was asking my self the same thing. Al upgarde settlements from moat and baley to castle in 50 or so turns but i need around 100t and with general constantly present in sett

I think AI might get a bit too much pop growth bonus in 6.4- it makes the best strategy to not develop your own regions but wait for AI to build theirs then go capture it. Or trade regions etc...

I like the overall slower growth rates but I don't know if AI should get such a huge boost. Some boost certainly... but the effect is quite dramatic when AI gets such a boost in every single region where even putting good chivalry general in 1 region its impossible to match that growth past the lowest levels.

Ideally it would get progressively more difficult- so advancing from large town to minor city would take longer than even in 6.3 but nothing crazy, then minor city to large city a bit more difficult- finally huge city or citadel would be really difficult.

It might be better if low taxes also carried some penalties not only bonus. So normal tax becomes default rate and growth bonus/malus figured from there. IE- low taxes encourage people to move there and build but also encourages independent ideas which might lower public order/increase revolt risk/give disloyalty traits to governors, even lower recruitment pool fill rate as people drawn there want to make money not serve in the military. So a well balanced empire might have a few such commerce cities that would be achieving slightly higher growth rates but the rest...

Also if the Capitol got maybe .05% growth bonus. And borrowed the idea from BGR that there are costs to moving a Capitol. So player can move capitol around a bit but has a 5,000 cost each time plus the lowering of taxes and other factors as distance from Capitol increases so it probably wouldn't be abused much to move it to every city to get Huge/Citadel.

It take me a few years to upgrade a M&B, 100t is way exaggerated.
