Default Why are you looking forward to this mod?

What is it about this mod that has kept you interested? I just found out about it not that long ago, but it looks like are a good number of people who have been following for a couple of years now. What has kept you checking in and posting in this forum?

What got me interested in this mod is the level of professionalism that I've seen in the design followed by the mod developers being very good about providing updates and information on the progress and features of the mod.

Initially, I just checked in because, hey, who doesn't like vikings? But then I saw the amazingly detalied map, and the badass looking character models, not to mention the awesome shields. Really, the people who worked on this stuff are artists!

I have only just come across this mod really whilst browsing for more total war mods to get my teeth into.

I have an interest in the conflicts around the british isles and northern europe and this mod seems to be aiming at representing this! Interest has been slightly stoked by recently finishing Bernard Cornwell's triology of books surrounding Alfred of Wessex and the Vikings!!

Maybe I will try the Saxon or the Normans, but the most important thing is that this mod looks promising.

    Cheers.

Because it covers a period of my country's history that is unknown to the majority of English people, let alone the rest of world. It's great to see such a well-crafted mod pay attention to one of the lesser-known periods of history. FFS I'm English, and none of this stuff got taught to me in school, I had to learn it myself!

Great looking mod, great setting and obviously a lot of love gone into it. Can't wait.

Question though - as a Mancunian, should I play Mercia or Northumbria as my "Home" faction?

There are hardly any mods set in the Saxon period, which was a time of massive change and upheaval for Britain, was was hgely infuential in the development of Britain and especially what was to become England.

The second attraction is the sheer quality and attention to detail of the work. The units themselves are amazing. I have seen them in action. I believe Danava has no equal when it comes to making unit skins.

I just like killing british people, I have a genetic sickness, it's not my fault.

Been waiting for a good Dark Age Mod which includes Viking factions.

I have been patiently waiting for this for a couple years.

All the work that has been put into it is admirable.

I first saw it right after reading the Bernard Cornwell books. Uhtred has to be one of my favorite literary characters of all time. The idea of playing as the vikings during their heyday is also enticing.

that's exactly my point as well.

but I didin't search it. in fact I was very lucky.
I was originally searching for a patch to let the aztecs develope their settlements - what they poorly don't do in (original) M2TW. (and I never found sth to fix that )
and then I stumbled over this fantastic mod, because I knew the title from the books and thought, well let's have a look at it.
and now it doesn't release me

I have been searching for a while, as I have been playing TATW and BC for a while. Both are great but I want some more variety. As BC 2.3 is coming out any day and TLK looks to be coming out soon I am really happy. It looks like things are really looking up for Total War Mod enthusiasts in both the short and long term! I really like the layout of this mod. Nice looking factions, I just hope that there are some nice varied AOR and Region-Unique units. EB and BC do this really well and I think that it could be great should it be possible to incorporate into this mod.

If not, its still cool. RTR was awesome and it didn't follow this really. I am rambling....hehehe Lets just say the concept and time period is really good and the units and environment look great. Respect to the team!

id have to agree with VaeVictus, its a dark age mod unlike any ive seen. the units are beautiful the level of detail and work put into it is rather astounding and the gameplay well is to be decided but im sure as soon as the small minor issues are fixed we will all get to taste the spoils of war. also bc my favorite time period has got to be the dark ages or Viking age.

Mainly becouse the work gone into this Mod is just astounding, and by this I don't even mean the quality (which is amazing). What I mean, is the time and effort put in is rediculous bordering super-human! I've been lucky enough to see the 'backstage' stuff, and even lend my own hand at it, and DaNova and Gigantus are credits to the Modding community! I, nor anyone, can praise them enough.

Not to forget guys, this has been done in their own time without pay! However, I believe if we are all indeed so hyped for this Mod, donations to Ornametum should be made!

I have been following this mod for a over a year checking here on a regular basis. Main things that interest me is the time the mod takes place. I think this is good time frame for a MTW2 mod. Another thing that really intrests me is the fantastic units Danova has created. I have been a fan of his work for some time and and just looking at the units I just know this mod is gonna be one of the best ever
