hi everyone, just wanted to do a poll on whats your fav tw game and why...

for me its nappy all the way. nappy is how empire should of been but i do love the campaign on empire though. muskets for me i'm afraid..

hey m8 - yep i still think NTW is the best game - i just love the napoleonic era more than anything - shogun is good and its actually great for doing videos as battles arnt drawn out more than 10 minutes max. the strategic points are just to good to believe even though most games they arnt used. it is just amasing how they manage to stop camping - lol i hardly ever get to attack first anymore - which is quite unbeleavable. but once the player numbers drop from the Match made games ill be back to NTW. i think i might just do 1 shogun battle a night for my youtube channell and then come play NTW. the team muiltplayer in shogun doesnt look that exciting but 1v1 it is fabulous.

The best total war game as far as multiplayer goes? Most likely nappy/empire. But Shogun2 has by far the best campaign I have seen. It also has good multi, so I choose that in the poll.

Considering this is posted in the Napoleon section could it not be a little biased?

For me its still nappy, but at the moment in indulging mainly in Shogun2.

I love NTW on multiplayer. It is by far the best game in that respect, however, i preferred the campaign on Rome and Medieval 2. I like the civ type nation building on the campaign map as much as the real time battles and a good range of mods enhanced playability. I've not played Shogun 2 so i can't comment on that one.

Shogun 2 MP is already looking better than NTW ever was.
1. The lag is gone in 99% of the games. (most annoying thing in all previous TW titles)
2. Avatar campaign and unit/army customization is an addictive game by itself.
3. Capture points on the maps prevent camping
4. Quitting/pulling plug/stat whoring will hopefully be fixed for good in S2TW.

I have to agree that 19th century European warfare interests me more than Japan's feudal age, but still the game makes for a much better overall experience in my book.

Tough one this. I'd say shog2 has the best campaign by far but for me the favourite would be empire because although its campaign was heavily flawed, it was huge, open ended and awesome. Although napoleon was great and I played it to death, certain things about it I found unforgivable. The complete lack of realism, the way a line regiment had anly front rank fire whereas a light one had all rank fire just seems ridiculous. Med 2 another excellent game which I hammered for a 1000+ hours but looking back the campaign is pretty basic and not a challenge. Didnt play rome till last year but, in all honesty, found it far too dated for my liking and got no fun out of it. The game I look forward to most in the future is without doubt empire 2. Id also love to see an expansion for empire based in the 1820-1880 period with a variety of campaigns (Africa/American Civil war/Franco prussian/Crimean etc).

Nap imo is the most fun i have had gaming, not just on TW games but all games
