Default Too late for a 1.5 port?

With M:TW2 around the corner, what are the chances that it will even be completed? If M:TW is any good, I'd love to see EB on that engine. Then again, it's probably too early to tell.

MTW2 should come in a year or so. Don't worry, they will give us a lot of fun before that.

It's kinda crazy how MTW2 came out of nowhere.

I think it will be delayed just like RTW. Project like that must has a lot of time to finish it correctly without bugs, hopefully . So, untill then keep up the good work EB team. No one knows how the hell MTW II will be perfect or just some painting.
Now playing and modding for Chivalry Total War Mod although I got Medieval II Total War...

I hope so. Still we have to wait one year before MTW2 is relised and then another year before decent mod is done for MTW2 so its actually playable.
I hope i will play EB in this time.

Haha, that's funny! You don't really think that's why they delayed RTW, right? Whew. Good.

As someone said, there's still at least another year before it comes out. A year between announcement and release is very, very small when it comes to a game, so it'll likely not be released till 2007. Plenty of time for everyone, even CTW!

the only reason it took rome so long is its dodgy engine, medieval is just enhancing romes engine so it should take that long, from the screenshots they have already implemented most the feautures and i heard its going to be out this september

Erm, you guys realise that CA and sega have given an official eta of the 4th quarter of THIS year, so it will be out in less than a year.

As Ilias has stated, it is an enhanced version of the roem engine, just instead of a regular mod team working on it, it is the game designers and coders, so it will most likely been done this year or early next year. -Leon

I think that even if MTW2 is out tomorrow, EB and all the other teams working on RTW or BI should continue and finish their actual projects.

Hrm... a year.. no I don't think EB will done by then. Hasn't it already been under development for a year?

This is the stone henge of mods!

Well then using that logic, one must see that in a year they have gotten to version .7, so in another year, they will get to version 1.4 -Leon

I'd like to apologize to EB for starting this thread. It was a serious question about where your efforts might be focused because, iirc, EB was initially started before R:TW's release so I assumed that a similar gear shift might be applicable for M:TW2 and wanted to know is all.

We don't accept your apology. This thread was unforgivable, therefore you are unforgiven. Let this thread stand as a testiment to how low mankind can sink. Too late for 1.5 port? Next thing you know this guy will be leveling entire cities!

I'm not sure if you're joking or if you're really serious but remember to keep your posts respectful.

Nah, it's tongue in cheek. I'm pretty sure of that. The 'leveling entire cities' part gives it away I think.

Sigh. I'll give you another overused cliche: Rome wasn't built in a day.

Is there any news on EB's views on a 1.5 port over?

The patch and then next release come first, but we've made some attepts at a port. For my part, I'm having serious problems trying to get buildings and the hidden resource system that we need to restrict their construction to work in 1.5. We've ported over buildings, but I need help from someone who has worked with buildings and HR's in 1.5 apparently to help get that part started.
