    Default Rebel, rebel, rebel!

Just started my first SS early campaign. Playing as England.

I have sent out 23 groups of units in the first 50 turns, and around HALF have turned into rebels! This includes four armies led by family members.

Surely that cant be normal? Me and the scots are at war, but are both too busy fighting rebel armies spawned by my units trying to move around the campaign map!

    help?

Same story every week? No idea why you say that.

I have the SS mod installed with no extras ticked.

Yea yuo should re check your SS set up and make sure you dont have BGR selected. You probably do on accident.

Could you tell me how to check if I have it enabled please? I did not check any options when I started the game.

@Ferdiad - I'm not crying, just asking a civil question and asking for a civil answer. That ok?

Go to the SS 6.3 folder (it will be called 6.3 even though you have 6.4 installed) Open up the program that says SS setup

All the things that have a check mark next to them are what you selected. If you unselect or select anything new you will have to start a new campaign.

And dont worry about ferdiad, he hasnt had is daily cup of whiskey yet.

Thanks for the replys. I do not have the BGR bit running for this game. So the amount of Rebs spawned is a bit OTT. Anyone know where I can change things in the files to tone down the amount of rebels created from my own units?

Do you perchance have a low authority faction leader?

Not that I'm aware of - not sure how to check that, but London is nice and green under him, and no problems other than when I move troops its a lottery as to whether they turn into brigands or not.

Under your faction leaders stats along with piety e.c.t there should be authority more fists the better. Am loyalty also plays a part ive never had that many rebellions before without bgriv on so im a bit baffled.

I am baffled to. Been playing total war games from the first shogun, played RTR into the ground etc. First mod I have seen something like this happen! Seems to be centred around York for some reason and I cant stop it, got forts etc. I have been searching through the txts and changed the general brigands spawn to 9999, but its still happening.

is your family member in york got unleashed ambition or very low loyalty/civil war traits? or your king has pissed off the nobility trait?

You cant change the rebels' spawn rate mid-campaign.

Or you could do a forum search and read the other 15 threads on this exact same subject.

Have you altered the descr_strat.txt file? There you can change the likelihood of rebel spawning at the lines that change turns per year... the lower the number, the more frequent the rebels spawn...

but it seems that it is your wandering armies that defect... as other posters have stated, it is likely due to BYGS... I would recommend running the setup once again, change the era and then re-change the era again WITHOUT ticking the BGR option... that way, most files will be overwritten for sure... I have noticed that sometimes if I start a new campaign with the same era, some files doesn't overwrite themselfs (specificly the files i modded myself )...

also, what's the religion level in York? Don't know if it is related in any way, but just checking...

He only needs to view the traits to see if he has BGR on and in any case he stated that he does not have it.

If files are not being properly overwritten by stainless steel then that should be established as fact and reported in the bugs thread. If this user want to post his descr_campaign_db file I should be able to confirm for him if this is the case.
