Default Wondering why - RTW Trailers and Game reality!

I was just looking at old RTW trailers, and saw a bunch of great stuff, and was wondering why the hell didn't CA put that into the released version of RTW? The shields actually were gold and red, like the Romans, and there was a lot of other stuff too.

Actually we don't, but look also at this thread concerning the trailers and what was in them:

From the pride and arrogance of the Romans nothing is sacred. But the vindictive gods are now at hand. On this spot we must either conquer, or die with glory (Boudiccas Speech, Tacitus, Annals, XIV, 35)

I went to ign.com and checked out some of the trailers, and they look a lot better than what we got.

Most games are like that (they just get over ambitious, and also are trying to market the game...a stretch of the truth really isn't "false advertising" for them...they just blame it on "ran out of time" when what was advertised never makes it to the game).

I remember in the summer a lot of people went nuts over this...(when people were going nuts about EVERYTHING TW/Sega related) I had seen the trailers you're referring to back then and felt the exact same way. I won't even look at them anymore, because it's just a tease heh.

Let's keep this in mind, and take some things that seem almost too good to be true with MTW2, with a grain of salt (perhaps 2 when talking about visuals)

Well we shouldn't need to take the graphics with a pinch of salt for MTW2 as they are ingame shots.

suppposedly the Rome Total War pictures and trailers were "in game" as well. I agree with General4Hire. He makes a good point.

The thing I don't get is, they already had the Roman, Seleucid, and if you have Seleucid, then you have Macedon, and all three of those looked awesome, but they didn't add those skins, and I am pondering why.

Well the first trailer was not "ingame", it was just a trailer to show offf the RTW engine. Im guessing they didn't have themoving mouth and stuff because of the fact that old computers wouldn't be able to play the games. Also, the skins they have in RTW are better than those early skins in my opinion, they are better models and textures.
