Trafalgar : Why have i lost this battle ?

Hello,

As my first message on this forum i have a small question and hope you can help me with :

I was playing the 2vs2 Trafalgar scenario in multiplayer, assuming command of one of the two british fleets.
The game begins well as i was able to sink a 80 gun ship and seriously damage another without losing anything.
I now had a clear advantage over the half of the french-spanish fleet who was engaged against me.
And suddenly, without warning, after only 10 minuts, the game ended with a small defeat of my side.

Why have we lost this battle ?
My allied fleet was alive, having lost a fraction of his ships only, but allways able and willing to fight. No side had gained a crucial advantage or claimed a major victory or suffer a serious defeat. All admirals were alive. So why ?

As this is my second game, i'm surely missing something. Please help me to understand.

did u check the time limit on the battle. as it sounds like u had it set on 20mins.

Nice tip, i will check this for the next game. But i'm pretty sure i had let the timer on the default setting and it wasn't 20 minuts, more 60.

sounds like u had a time limit on the go there buddy. u can set it so thats theres no time limit but i'm not entirely sure if u can on scenario battles though. worth checking before u start. nothing like running out of time when ur on the verge of victory...
