Retraining

I have noticed that the AI does NOT retrain its units
Is it a bug or its normal?
I am using Alex.exe

yeah..its rarely happen even in alex.exe .
I played alex vanilla again a few weeks ago and observed especially the retraining behaviour of the AI and it was a good as none..although on a longer campaign you can suddenly run across a gold chevron AI unit which means that it got retrained a lot..however..it seems that these cases are exceptions

well in RTW and BI.exe units never got retrained so it was supposed to be step forward in Alex.exe but it turned out to be a very small one

as the AI usually attacks me with a 3:1 advantage, simultant at 3-5 hot spots across whole map nearly every round, i see "no retraining" pretty positiv. if AI starts retraining too, i gonna be ...
