Loose Formation

Complete newbie question, as I've only been playing for 2 days:

How do I put units into loose formation? I've trawled through the keyboard shortcuts, but to no avail!

You cant.
Imagine LINE infrantrary in loose formation. Thats no longer LINE inf, is it?

Um, yes it is. A broken line is still a line. But let's not get into semantics. How about cavalry, skirmishers, light infantry etc?

Normaly for some units you have a button on the upper right part of the unit interface named "put unit in skirmish mode", they will adopt the loose formation and sustain less death from firing as they improve the distance between each soldier.
