Default Please take your time to read this - Marius Reforms

I've got to say, great mod in my own opinion it's the best one, By far. But, is there anyway i could make marius reforms come quicker? I hate having to wait till 220 bc.
So if anyone could tell me how to make this happen sooner i'll be really greatful.

    Thanks alot - Dan

    ^Nope ^ Its a thing with the 1.2 patch.

I think if you turn on the four turn per year script (hit escape then the ? then the show me how on the advisor thing.) in the beginning of your campaign it jumps ahead to 244 bc. Then if you turn it off thats 34 years of time jumped. I'm not sure though; I lost that campaign in like 7 turns.

The only thing I don’t like about the reforms is the fact you can’t retrain your pre marina units into post marian units. Shame. Anyway at least with SPQR 6.0 (RTW 1.5) the reforms will happen in 220 B.C and not some time after 220 B.C.

so it's hard coded for 220BC? ie. is it?

    - will always happen in 220BC whether you have an imperial palace or not, or
    - will always happen in 220BC providing you have an Imerial palace

and if option 2 I assume that means you can control the date of it happening by delaying your imperial palace until when you want the reforms?

Its option 2 but "will happen in 220 bc or AFTER if you have an imperial palace".

Sometimes there is a bit of a delay between building the imperial palace and getting the reforms.

In SPQR 6.0 (with the new patch) reforms will come with an imperial palace. No need to wait.. Tho if you have enough pop to do it or not I have no Idea.

I like the wait...I have lost a few armies to those damn Germans. Gauls are no problem, I expanded to 25 held territories and then waited for the reform which happened last night around 216 BC. I just posted armies on bridges and the guals just love throwing their men against my legions - however when the Germans meet me at a crossing or open ground it is a hard fight that I usually loose or win at too high a price, but just wait till they meet the new legions. hahahhaaaa

    The Germans are not that hard. To get the best results;

    - Make sure your army has a general in command and not a regular infantry captain, this will give your men a much needed morale boost.

    - Protect your flanks. The Germans like to use heavy cavalry to smash your flanks wide open. Instead of wasting arrows on infantry use your archers and slingers to bring down cavalry. To Protect you flanks deploy your Hastaii front line in shield wall with units at both end facing the left and right respectfully.
    - Bring your general nearer to front line to prevent you Hastaii from routing to soon. Put your most experienced men on the flanks and your weakest in the middle.
    - Don’t be afraid to use all of your skirmishers to kill the enemy Captain/General. When they die the army suffers a collapse in morale. If his men are all exhausted from fighting its not uncommon to see a whole in flight once their general falls.

I think you might need to have conquered a certain amount of provinces as well as having two imperial palaces is required for the marius reforms.
