Default Who to contact on Dev team?

Hi, I've been playing this Mod for a while now and been having an awesome time with it. Great job guys, easily the best mod I've played for RTW.

I'm a 3D and Graphic artist and wanted to offer my services to the Dev team if/when RS3 happens. I was a little mortified to see images for buildings and other artwork literally ripped off out of other games like the Caesar series and Age of Empires series among others. (These were some of the first computer games I ever played as a kid and I remember them well )

I certainly think that if you really would take on the challenge to redo the images and building card images for the buildings it would be highly appreciated and push RSII a great deal forward.
I kinow what you talking about regarding some images looking weird or directly taken from old games
    However...its a massive task...

Hahaha. Is anything happening for a future release? Looking around forum the general consensus seems to be you guys are taking a well deserved break after the mammoth effort of the last one.

I agree that revamping the cards and other artwork would be a massive task, but at the very least I'd be interested in redoing the ones that are stolen imagery and some others that don't really seem to have much to do with what they are. Doing some cool loading screens wouldn't be too much effort either.

Getting into trouble with publishers like Microsoft and Activision who own some of this stuff seems to be a quick way to sink a great project (even if the content is 10+ years old in some cases).

naaah..they dont bother about this sort of minor things as long as the stuff is not used for business reasons and a mod has clearly no economic goal... (Thats what counts for the companys)

Yeah it doesn't surprise me that that happens all the time. I've had the same thing being part of other development teams for other games with people I've worked with in RL. I imagine when there's little/no face to face contact it would be even worse.

I've come to this forum a few times in the past for tech/gameplay problems and joined it last night specifically to make this thread. (In future if I do this again I might try a bit harder to find a member of the Dev team and PM them though. In the last 24 hours I've had 3 people from different TW mod teams PM me asking to help them "Oh look, someone offering free help").

Anyway, I'll get to work with some mockups in the next few weeks and post what I come up with. I'll start small with the building icons/cards only. Is there somewhere in particular I should post it?

The building icons/cards are a great start... As I said...getting an overhaul over the roman building tree would be fantastic... IMO of course...
(dont forget that some images are shared among all factions like mines for example, these neutral buildings should not be to faction specific)...

Post it as s submod here:

I'd send a PM to dvk901 offering your services. There may be a need for some help with RSII.

I am aware that a number of images were 'lifted', shall we say, from other games. It's very hard to find anything that's of any use when it comes to such small artwork.

There won't be an RSIII, however. BUT, I would be more than happy to see original building cards and images for RSII. If you have a passion to work on this, please PM me.

Oh. Thats disappointing . Well, if you want help with visuals for any future TW projects let me know via email PM. My experience with games in the past has mostly been with UI's, icons, menus and so on for indie games. I'm a freelancer so I tend to either have no free time or way too much free time on my hands for projects like this.

Not quite as motivated now knowing there won't be an RSIII, but I'll still give it a go. My main motivation was from seeing the work from a bunch of different sources and thinking it could look awesome if the mod had a more defined and consistent style to the artwork. So much work had gone into every other area of the mod it seemed a shame not to have the same level of spit and polish in the artwork (although I totally get why some of the work was lifted, revamping it would be a f***load of work).

Sure. Here is some of the work from my day job, uni and other personal projects: http://dahoota.deviantart.com/ Not game related, but it might give you an idea of my skill level. My specialties are Photo realistic 3D work and Photo-manipulation.
