Default New Alienware m11x R3 on the way!

Well guys, if you're interested in the famed Alienware "gaming netbook" they'll be updating them to Sandy-bridge, which can possibly yield 50-60% increase in performance, that will make up for the processor bottleneck of the previous R2 version (the Core2duo version anyway)

Hopefully the price will remain the same! Unfortunately Engadget did not report on the GPU inside.... which is the more important factor... I'd assume it'll be a 4XXm series, possibly a 5XXm series, which would be yummy :]

If there is a new model coming, apparently people still buy this overpriced stuff.

It's honestly not priced bad, $599 for a ultraportable gaming netbook? The only thing that can compete is around $800-900 and is a full-size laptop.

Meh. $599 for a netbook? No thanks. I classify this with Macs in regards to value.

    Me too

If I'm going to play a game I don't want to do so on a tiny netbook screen either.

I'd pay half that price for a netbook.

It could pack a 13'' screen there easily, but it would lose the market hype because of it.

Aside that they are terribly built.

BTW the gpu is going to be gt540m I bet my cookies!

People who travel and go places regularly on business need these laptops we can afford them so you don't need to worry about playing on bigger screens they meet my needs and keep me entertained either games movies music etc everything is there for me so its very nice to have this feature.

Notebooks are outselling desktops now they are getting better and better and its only going to be time until we go mobile as temps and hardware becomes more stable in harder heat sources.

I have had my laptop for 6 months and not one problem at all i can max shogun 2 easy and play any movie i want even if its in a shopping centre or out in the countryside i can do whatever i feel with a desktop you cant do that nor can you lan with other people when you go away on holiday .

I love laptops for one good reason you can do everything you want take it wherever you feel .

The new sandybridge laptops have been reported to be the most effeteness mobiles yet just go take a look at the MSI GT680.

Happy days and im glad you are buying a new laptop add me on steam or skype whatever we can talk about laptops and cool stuff .
