    Default PCIe 2.0 info

    When it comes to Pc's I don't much but my graphics card is broken and is a gtx 280 in a pci 2.0 slot ( I Think), when i go to buy a new card such as a gtx 560 it says they are pci express 2.0 x 16 slots will that fit in my motherboard slot? is PCI express 2.0 the same as pcie 2.0 x16?
    Please help it would be appreciated!
    Ps I cant look up my motherboard as i don't know whatt make it is ( long story).

    edit got my motherboard in late 2007 i think it is pcie 2.0 certainly looks like it in the picture.

    Yes, if you have a GTX 280 it will support a GTX 560. Just make sure your power supply is powerful enough before you buy. (Though it's likely it is.)

    thanks very much! its an 800 watt psu so i will be ok.
