BAI and CAI siege logic
I'm a few turns in a Hard Mori campaign. After conquering a couple of provinces, I found myself faced with a superior enemy force on the border of a newly conquered settlement. I expected a siege, and I would have done the same thing. I had 3 depleted bow units, a depleted Katana samurai and 4 Yari Ashidudes, the samurai retainers, plus a 2* general. They had 6 bowmen, a samurai bowmen, and 5 Yaris and a 2* general.
Here's my first beef - the AI sieged and decided to assault right away. My problem with this is that the AI really didn't have an advantage in this siege battle. In an open battle, yeah maybe, but not assaulting a fortified position. What I would like to have seen is the AI maintaining the siege until I sallied out, or gave in to the siege. That would have been the only logical choice given the lack of clear superiority. The CAI needs to understand this. It shouldn't assualt without a 1.5 - 2 X power advantage, or without a siege weapon if the force ratio is lower.
My second beef is with the BAI - why does the AI not attack gates? Every siege I have fought finds the AI scaling walls to their demise. Attack the gates and you've got an open door. Chances are the AI will still lose without a preponderance of force, but I suspect I would have lost a lot more men in the situation I described above.

Re: BAI and CAI siege logic
Its a weird thing about the BAI, that also leads to a glitch where the reinforcement s won't try for the castle (which has won me clutch sieges), though I found out to my displeasure, if a ninja sabotages your gates, the reinforcements will work fine.
