You're right. Generals should be immune to siege artillery and arrows. Why not make them immune to spears and swords too?
First watch REPLAY and then come back to say something....clever boy
..battle start
..one shot BAAM half of bodyguards destroyed
--second shot General DEAD .....
at least miss %50...
You super sniper

A simple illustration of an ancient catapult
A mangonel (derived from Greco-Latin word manganon, meaning "engine of war")[1][2] was a type of catapult or siege machine used in the medieval period to throw projectiles at a castle's walls.
Maybe they confused like "castle's walls=My General"![]()

There is only one surefire strategy when dealing with elaborately defended mangonel/cannon campers, and for the difficulty of describing such an elaborate strategy I've attached a picture instead:

Oh my here we go again.
Add me on Steam if you are playing SHOGUN 2 multiplayer!
Most of the time that shot will miss, some times not even hitting a single unit. RNG is RNG. The only thing that would eliminate that from happening is drastically reducing the range or removing them altogether. Even if they lowered the accuracy it would still happen, and you would still be pissed. How low would the accuracy have to go? 1/100 actually hits something? People would still come whine when their generals got sniped. What would be the point?
Any time there is long range artillery there is a risk of this happening.
Awesome.
AI seems to go after the general alot this time around.
Actually pretty clever. I always hide my general behind something.
Yes, it's nice that we aren't the only ones sniping the generals.
In my hojo campaign, I took quite a few general heads that way. Especially in "3 generals" armies.
Seeing that in ashigaru armies, the general is needed close from the frontlines, it's nice to have a dilema of "do I get close or do I hide?".
Take one light cav' unit. This will be pretty useful. And just go left and right. they shoot at where you are going, so micro a bit, away or behind your main force, and make them waste their ammo.
