My proper install for 6.4 with steam, keep in mind this is a fresh install of mtw2 and kingdoms with windows7/vista. User access control is off, to cut this off please see http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/1...-in-windows-7/ for vista see http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windo...windows-vista/ - not recommended for people who get drunk and start click on banners for free porn.
#1 download 6.3 - Stainless Steel 6.3 Torrent if you don't have a torrent client here is one http://www.utorrent.com
#2 download 6.4 - Link 1 - Torrent
#3 right click SS6.3.exe and click Run as Administrator - copy and paste this location to install C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\medieval ii total war\mods\SS6.3 (assuming you have steam installed in a default directory on vista/7)
#4 right click SS6.4.exe and click Run as Administrator - copy and paste this location to install C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\medieval ii total war\mods\SS6.3 DO NOT RUN SETUP AFTER INSTALL, TELL INSTALLER YOU DO NOT HAVE STEAM. close everything down and if the game auto runs just close it.
#5 open up windows explorer/My computer find your way to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\medieval ii total war\mods\ you will see all the folders for kingdoms, americas crusades ect ect. Right click on americas, left click rename, rename it to "americas_original".
#6 right click SS6.3, left click rename, rename it to americas
#7 now double click americas folder (if you see a sub folder named ss6.3 something is wrong see #3 and #4), you should see ss_setup.exe in there, double click that, choose your mods, and start date, when you click save and start, kingdoms start screen will come up, close it.
#8 Open up steam, double click Kingdoms, once the kingdoms start screen comes up click play - americas
#9 poof it should work. Should the need to play the original americas campaign arise, please rename the "americas" folder to "SS6.3" and rename "americas_original" to "americas"
I hope this works for everyone because it should, I've tested it on a win7 and an XP machine.
