    Default 3ds Max Question

Anybody know how to increase the resolution in 3DS MAX, so that the textures look more shaper and clearer? I want it to look like how it looks when you render the model.
    thanks

Hey! Shogo! How you doing? Haven't seen you for a while.

Sorry, just wanted to say hi. I don't know crap about moddeling.

Hey sup? I've been around just haven't been posting as much.

as i have seen your work(awsome) im not going to presume i know something you dont, but i looked in my big 3d book and there's nothing about on screen resolution it only reffers
to lod's and rendering however you might want to try adding some basic lighting fx (sunlight and omni)

on the command panel chose create systems/sunlight .
in the centre of the scene in the top viewport, click and drag once to create a compass rose, and then drag and click to create the directional light

on the main toolbar, choose select and rotate.

in the top viewport rotate the compass rose -90 along the z-axis

    in the left viewport,choose sun01

on the command panas, choose motion.

try the defaults for now you can change them later for positon time of day etc..

on the command panels chose modify

in the general parameters rollout/shadows group, choose ADV.retraced shadows from the dropdown list.

in the intesity/color/attenuation rollout, choose the swatch next to multiplier

in the colour selector dialog, set red 220 green 219 blue 225

rightclick in the camera viewport to make it active

on the main tool bar choose quik render

on the commad panels coose create/lights omni

in the top viewport, click create an omni light anywhere

on the main toolbar, choose select and move

    on the status bar/transform type-in area,set x = 2'2.346" ,y= 52'5.789",z=25'09"

on the modify panel/intensity/colour/attenuation rollout, set the multyplier to 0.8,and chose the colour swatch

in the coulor selector dialog, red =225 green 217 blue 214

right click camera viewport to make it active

    and do quick render

    best of luck
What??? I don't think that will help but thanks anyways.

This thread lacks of reading comprehension.

What Shogo wants have nothing to do with rendering, it's got to do with texture quality in the normal view. I don't think it's possible to change it though.

oh i thought "i want it to look how it looks when you render the model" was the request my mistake,

activeshade can also be achived in the perspective window right click over where it says perspective in the left corner of main window,
    view/activeshade

again i must apologise for my lack of understanding the nuance's and complexities of the written language
