I was wondering what are the scammers after? credit card numbers? these people who make such elaborate and clever webpages can't all want free video games to play. and most hijacked accounts are recovered within 24 hours. so i'm also wondering what the point of them is.

The machines rose from the ashes of the nuclear fire. Their war to exterminate mankind had raged for decades, but the final battle would not be fought in the future. It would be fought here, in our present. Tonight...

Listen, and understand. That terminator is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead.

The bulk of account hacking is done through pulling usernames/passwords/emails from online forums which generally have gaping security holes.

That happened to me about 1-2 years ago, a friend sended the link ( it was nearly named like the orginial) and i was so stupid to enter Account Details and than bei password was changed, i contacted the Steam Support and had to prove the originilatiy of some of my games ( photo from the backside manuel from Empire and Dawn of War 2. After ca. 5 hours and several Emails, they send me new password. Fortunateley i didn't save the credid card information before, so i actually had no loss or something else.
