    Default Careers, Estates, Clients etc.

    Greetings all

To kick off just want to say a HUGE thankyou to the development team for a superb mod as well as the guys over at FGE for a very promising submod , i've highly enjoyed both so far.

I have a query regarding the progression up the ladder for careers, estates, clients and so forth

Basically im having real difficulty getting anyone past the rank of Aedile. I've had one consul (who went straight to consul after a glittering military career) and maybe two Praetor's in 3 or 4 aborted playthroughs (id say around 80-140 turns in each) and barring plebeian careers struggle to get the roman leadership system to function correctly. Bar Gnaeus Servius Geminus who is present at the start (who managed to get vast client network and estates and became censor) none of my patricians or equestrians seem to go beyond small estates and client networks and thus never progress past the aedile stage. Also, despite the fact that some plebs manage to get vast client networks and estates (although not many even though they are at the end of their mercatores and negatiores careers) they dont progress past aedile either. The same pattern appears with the Military careers. Ive had the 1 or 2 Legati on the patrician side but no plebeians past the centurion rank.

Ive studied the two leadership previews and tried to follow them to the best of my ability, but i as i understand it the system was never fully finished or altered to a degree so it may not be fully correct and thus may be the reason why the system isnt functioning correctly.

Am I the only person who is having these problems? If so any guidlines on how to improve this?

Is the system fully functional and if it isn't will it be reworked as apart of the trait fixes due with the next patch or indeed in future patches?

I've had a look through the forum so i apolgise if this has been explicitly explained somewhere and I'm just too much of a prat to spot it.

    Cheers,
    nhartwell

Back when I played RS2, I noticed a "bug" or an exploit that could be used when it came to senatorial offices. As you probably know, the ancillary 'Pontifex Maximus' is tradeable(means you can give it to another character of familiy member/general status(not agents)). When my Pontifex Maximus got very old, I gave the retinue to his governor subistute so that the retinue wouldn't go into the grave together with him(I do this with every decent ancillary when a character is of old age and in the risk zone of dying). However, after giving the ancillary I ended the turn, then when I checked up on the character who had recieved the ancillary, it was still there - now came the unexpected stuff; when I then checked up on the one who gave the retinue, he also had it again(even though it disappeared after I gave it in the previous turn). I tested this with another governor, I mean I repeated the process of giving away the retinue to this new governor - same thing happened, it ended with pretty much all of Italy having a governor with the 'Pontifex Maximus' retinue.

I've got no idea why I didn't report this and for that I'm sorry. Guess I got a tad frustrated when my RS2 stopped working despite multiple reinstalls and so forth, thus I forgot about it.

I'm not sure if this hasn't been fixed, since I'm not updated when it comes to RS2, however if it is - then it should be taken care of fairly quickly before every family member has all the offices.

I'll post a link in the 'bug forum' so that they can see this comment.

Probably, but it would be better if it were fixed. Perhaps it causes some issues or something, what do I know?
