I'm an old Macedon fan, but for more barbarian flavour I'll put in my vote for Scythia in this mod. Archers and horse archers in unholy alliance. And some elite heavy cavalry on top of that.

The Belgae are my favorite barbarian faction in this game. I like how you can conquer Britain right off the bat, which makes for a nice fall back land and has fairly good income. For something different I conquered Britain and Ireland, ignored Gaul completely, ecoed up and made a fair amount of large boats and started going Viking on Carthage and Spain for money, than lead a overseas campaign of raids on Greece. Ultimately I raised massive amounts of money and began conquering the middle east. Was so fun because usually I dont play so outlandishly but it was interesting seeing British barbarians battle Seleucids and the Ptolemaic Empire lol

Dacia, mostly. They have a tough starting position, but later on are a real pesty menace to my border in Moesia. Arverni are just for the sake of being there when I start conquering Gaul
