    Icon5 Experience gain/loss Mod ?

    Hi guys

    Does an anyone know if there is an experience gain mod ? I find that units gain exp far too slowly.

    The problem is the high casualties. I find that the most XP you can keep a unit at is level 2-3. After that they simply need too many kills to gain more levels, and lose too many people per battle to gain enough kills to get more levels. I was recruiting level 5 kisho ninja with the hattori, and after just 1-2 battles I lost 10-20 each in combat. When they regened they were at level 4 :\

    It seems the AI draws fresh level 0 recruits to your units and it drastically affects the xp. In previous TW games the reinforcements of the unit were either more experienced or it occurred differently since you could hold your unit levels much easier in those games. Once I realized that about Shogun I stopped waiting for the higher tier buildings since it made no sense to try and recruit level 4-5 guys if they are just gonna lose a level or two after a few battles...

    did you try to merge the units that are same level? if they're both level 5 that shouldn't cause any drops. just recruit a new unit of level 5s.

    Problem with recruiting fresh level 5 guys after a merge is that you have to walk those new guys sometimes 10+ turns to get to the front lines. Its very impractical.

    Agreed. I think it would be good to reduce the experience loss somehow. They way it currently stands you can almost never get a maxed exp ELITE! unit.

    I'm more peeved about the fact that you can have units survive from the beginning and then create fresh and green units of a higher XP later on. The only way to avoid this imbalance imo, is to allow Unit Upgrades/Retraining.

    I get your point, but just that would mean that I could theoretically train a fresh unit and have max XP, max weapons and max armour (i thinking warrior monks, since both the monastery upgrade and the hallowed ground upgrades add experience). That would automatically give you an uber-unit

    It makes sense that ony the surviving units gain exp.

    I could agree they should figure out a system where one can reach the higher veterancies, but I would hate it if it went to easy.

    I'm still looking for a mod that makes it easier to gain experience. I guess there isn't one so far ?
