Tom Chick Gives Shogun 2 an A

Tom Chick. well known for not sugar coating his review of empire calling it a "terrible mess" has given Shogun 2 an A.
You can read his review at 1up. I was on the fence about buying Shogun 2 after the debacle that was empire and Napoleon, but Tom's review actually makes me want to get the game.

There must be some mistake. Whatever game I've been playing lately -- the splash screen says it's called Shogun 2 and was created by Creative Assembly -- can't be from the same folks who made a spectacular mess of Empire: Total War. It's certainly not from the folks who flirted briefly with a God of War clone called Total Warrior (get it?). And it can't be the same people who callously orphaned that poor Stormrise sci-fi RTS. Because Shogun 2 is polished, smart, generous, elegant, and bold. It is utterly sublime.
Imagine you woke up one morning and the village idiot had built a cathedral. At which point someone vaguely recalls the village idiot was once a famous architect and it all kind of makes sense.

Cool! Judging by a lot of reviews on this forum and now this of Tom Chick.....the game must be really good! I will buy it over two weeks. Oh, hilarious quote by Tom Chick.

Yeah, considering the royal dump he typically takes on "seemingly" good games, I'm shocked.

A very surprising review from Tom, either the lizard-men got to him or CA have really turned a corner

But news like this still makes me wonder.....

...i really like the ten points of Shogun i fell in love with, it seems he went in with an overly critical attitude and was swayed by the overall package....

this raises some serious thoughts to ponder...
