    Default auto-resolve is messed up

i love the game and its features besides
-cant buy region(i know metsukes are there but i need to upgrade them to be able to easily buy cities)
    - and most importantly the auto resolve is messed up very badly

like just today which annoyed me badly is i spent 10000$ and 10 years put into making huge nanban ships and gunpowder units to bring my range and sea advantages throught the sky, which they are on battlefield and naval units are good in autoresolve, but on goround its just insane, i captured Higo as Shimazu and built 7 Ashigaru Matchlocks to reinforce it with 8 units of yari samurai and ashigaru, but when a enemy army 400 men under me with ashigaru archers completely massacred my army, i thought to myself "How can this happen!?!? matchlocks cause huge morale drop when fired and are very deadly, i sent a force of 1700 men of 12 yari ashigaru and 7 matchlock ashigaru and 1 general unit, against a force of 600 and still lost

    so shortened its screwed up

That's why if I ever choose to Auto-resolve I always quick save.

Yeah, I never choose autoresolve without quicksaving, it's just too random, and in this game the one defeat can mess up the rest of your campaign. If there's any contest I usually fight it myself. Also, archers should outrange teppou units, maybe that's what the computer is taking into account.
If you rep me, leave your name. I'll look more kindly on your future transgressions.

i've tried that with a battle that i lost with auto resolve like 6 times. every time the numbers come out the same. i think you to do the saving before you end the turn or the results would never change.

Exactly, as the outcome of auto-resolved battles is calculated, taking morale, experience, number and abilities of the general of the army into account, aswell as other boni. No motter how often you auto-resolve the same battle, you will get the same result.

I just started a Nori Campaign where I wont auto-resolve ANY battle, let it be a manhunt of 40 ashigaru or a huge 2on2 fight.

Why? I'd rather auto resolve and take a castle with 0 casualties to my 2000-strong army than line up archers and pick off 40 ashigaru on the battle map in real-time.

I think archers beat just about everything on auto resovle

Every time i auto-resolve i win, it was 1.1 in a siege battle with me as the attacker and i still won.

Auto-resolve is good for taking less losses in huge fights which are to your advantage in the faction strength bar.

I remember in Med: 2 it was even worse!

If you autoresolved 1 generals bodyguard regiment vs. 1 archer regiment, auto-resolve would make the archers win every time! If you fought the 'battle' by your self you could just 1-click attack (not even 2-click run) the archers and win a heroic vic

How it could possibly loose vs the archers was beyond me...

i just tested in a seige fight 4 ashigaru matchlocks vs 2 shigaru archers and they completly massacred my army, they have huge range and shoot really fast whats the point of the power of gunpowder if it has shorter range, very slow reload (unless has huge experience upgrade), and horrible accuracy (except for samurai matchlocks) there is no point to them unless on battle field or your the one defending

i recommend only using gunpowder for sea fights, defending or you outnumber the archers in a land fight, cause if your atttacking in siege or battle field your doomed unless you have cannons to back them up

I've auto-resolved twice in my game, and I was surprised to see on both occassions that I lost zero troops and completely destroyed the opposing force. fair enough, these were fleeing stragglers I had just destroyed in a land battle I had just played, but I was till amazed at the zero casualty rate.

Hmm, I've been experimenting with AR and it seems pretty fair to me so far. Not like Nappy or Empire where if you have could have 2 hussars and you try to AR a fight against 1 howitzer or something and you lose. Or Rome where if they have a good family member they figure it in like its like 5 units of Legionaries.

    I never auto resolve.

In fact, last night, I even played a final assault on a city during my Legendary Chosokabe campaign, where all that was left was the lone Daimyo (sans his bodyguard).

Bastard ate like 4-5 waves of homing arrows from my Bow Samurai before he bit the dust.
