LATEST UPDATE - Version 11 - Includes 15 clans modified with more subtle colors.
I modified the unit colors of the clans to something less cheerful. Extract the attached zip file and drop the pack file into your steam/steamapps/total war shogun 2/data folder.
Pack 11: (mod_Faction_Colorv11.pack) Updated Mori, Uesugi, Takeda, Date
Oda - Black, yellow (same as pack 2)
Shimazu - Dark Green, gray (same as pack 6)
Hojo - Steel blue, dark grey (same as pack 6)
Mori - reddish brown, ligth grey NEW!
Chokosable - black, darker shade of blue (same as pack 6)
Although I don't really like the fact that you've changed Oda to exactly like Uesugi which is my favorite, good job. Where do we get these so called clan colors from anyway? And I believe the monk in the video was not an Uesugi monk.

All the more reason to wipe out Oda first . Regarding the colors, there are a few online armor shops (i.e. Samuari-store) with clan specific armor as examples. Whether they are accurate or not, I don't know but they look cool.
I assumed the guy in the trailer was Uesugi cause Shingen looked like he was stabbing their territory or close to it at the siege. Also the history of battle between the two and because it was a warrior monk lead me to the same conclusion but its all speculation.

I believe someone informed me that the monk in question was an ally of Uesugi and sparked a war between them, don't remember who but it was in a discussion about the intro video

It's Shingen versus Tokugawa. Notice in the opening sequence that the banners of the castle force are gold on a white background: Same as Tokugawa on the campaign map and in-battle and whatnot.
They had a couple battles against one another, though yes, I am surprised that they didn't have the opening sequence as the fourth battle of Kawanakajima. You'd think they would! Seeing Kenshin charging between Shingen's lines to meet him one on one would be epic.
Besides, Kenshin wouldn't sully himself with the dishonor of shooting down a victorious duelist. Ieyasu would, considering his past alliances and affiliations with the Hattori, but not Kenshin.
Great work, is there any chance you can fix the appearant bugs for belts? they all seem to be white for some reason, for all factions.
That could actually be pretty easily fixed by editing the _colour_mask.dds-files for each type of unit (there's only three files to edit, samurai, ashigaru and special), and add colour-masks for that area. In the clan-retexture mod I'm working on, the belts will have different colours on different clans aswell.
By the way, how does this affect what colour is painted on the units when you soom out? Is the Tokugawa still completely white and ghost-like when you zoom out etc.?
The Oda colors you posted in the other thread were just perfect, not so much a fan of the black and purple though.
Tried to use the Hex editor to change it manually using the tutorial in the other thread and quickly realized how over my head it was.
Great job on the Tokugawa and Shimazu too
