Game freezing and/or crashing...

I have this happen during battles in which i fight along side an allied nation.. I (France) along with my allies the Argonese am attacked by an army of the Republic of Genoa and the game will freeze about 2 min into the battle before either army even engages.. I had a similar problem fighting along side the Germans except in that battle it would crash to desktop.. right as soon as i hit start battle

I have the steam version of the game.. I dont know if this makes me more likely to crash or not.. but it is only in these situations that i ever crash.. ..Anyone else with this issue or a potential fix?

You should probably post that in the Bug Report forum.
In order to give people a chance to find your error, it'd also be a good idea to post the last part of your system.log.txt file.
