    Default Can't start the campaign

Don't know if this post goes here, couldn't find a Technical support subforum.
I'm getting a "Please select an item from the list" when I try to start the campaing. I also get an error about the strat_description.txt line 24 column 1 after I close the game.
I have a Clean (unmodded) Rome total war folder + BI. Alexander is also installed, could this be the problem?

    thx for the help.

Welcome, Mithrog. We will try to help you, but first of all we need to know which mod you're playing?

Sounds like an install problem. Make sure you direct your install to the RTW folder.

    Cheers

I've moved this to its proper forum.

The problem is most likely that you didn't install the latest mod patch; I had this same problem when I didn't install the patch 5 correctly for SAJ. Install this patch (from download page), and you can select a campaign, as well as fix all major game problems. Also, having RTW Alexander installed under the same Rome Total War folder could be causing issues. I would recommend taking your version of the SAJ game off anyway though, as the new upgraded Somnium Apostatae Juliani version will be released soon, with all proiblems fixed.

Make sure your BI install is patched to 1.6. It should but one never knows.

Thanks for all the quick replies, but I already did everything (BI, 1.6 and the patch 5), will try to install everything from 0.

    Still have the same error.
I understand that installing BI makes ROME TW be in the version 1.6, do I need an additional patch for that?

You need to have Rome Total War v1.5 installed for this game to work. Do you have that?

    It's not a BI 1.6 mod ?

No, it doesn't. Download that patch (1.6) and install it. I'm 99% sure that is your problem.

I did that from the beggining. Then tried again from 0 in that order and installing the Mod to the same install folder. RTW, then patch 1.3, then 1.5 then BI, then SAJ Betav3 then the patch 5. AND still the same problem D:!
    BTW, thnx for the help.

Sorry for being pedantic, but did you point you IJ install into your RTW folder? Becasue if you haven't then you will get the error message you have been getting.

Yeah, was looking for that aswell, but couldn't find it, so I assumed that BI was 1.6 by itself. Anyone could tell me where to get it? I've checked www.totalwar.com tons of times and never find any patch for any total war game.
Thx a lot for the help.

Lol yeah, downloaded exactly that one a couple of days ago, when I try to install it it says it upgrades version 1.3 to 1.5... so I require a rome tw in 1.3... wtf?
Tried again anyway, just the same .

When i install RTW for Invasio Barbarorum mods, i do that :
    - install RTW vanilla
    - install patch 1.3
    - install patch 1.5
    - install BI addon
    - install patch 1.6

    and it works for me

Yep, I do that, except for the 1.6 patch, it just doesn't install telling me the patch is intended to upgrade from 1.3 to 1.5 (isnt it suppossed to upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6?) when I already have it with 1.5. Again, wtf?

Edit: Will try to reinstall 1 more time before I give up.
