Default became shogun = suicide ?

Well simple-short version my campaign was going well, expanding and money pooring in, more or less having good trade deals, make vassals, allies........until................. i became shogun

Quickly i got EVERYONE declaring war on me, my economy facing collapse and losing territores because i don't have armies enough to assure they wont fall

So resuming became shogun is suicide

    lonely ashigaru says.......

    Your picture made me smile.

I don't plan on making a move on the Shogunate until I have at least half of Japan in my control.

Welcome to the controversial new game feature that is Realm Divide. My advice is to not trigger it by taking too many provinces or capturing kyoto until you're ready.

Death_Sheep posted a great guide in the gameplay section of the forums about how to prepare for it.

that was my epic and odd victory i won the battle with just one ashigaru alive, all i had to do was waiting for the battle time limit ends

i guess wipe out everyone else and leave just kyoto to conquer the safest way

^: conquer Kyoto and rage on to make as many vassal as you can - they wont break allies with you since they wont know about "realm divide" event (being born late is truly a bless, isnt it?). With that many buffer factions around the middle of the map, you will have an easier time dealing with threats from shogunate alliance.

well my current vassals/allies have been loyal because they've been created after i became shogun. the issue is my regions on central japan are falling one by one because i can't reach them on time to rescue my besieged castles also all i've left now is 17 regions and 1595.... so the 40 is totally impossible. takeda, tokugawa are now my major enemies ..arghhh !!

Strange, after I became shogun on my hard uesegi, I rolled over the rest of the map. I guess that was also because I controlled all of japan from kyoto eastwards.

Well as soon as you reach legendary status (which was around 15 provinces for me) you will get realm divided and more or less everyone will attack you, so it's pretty much impossible to conquer half of Japan before it happens.

When I had the Realm Divide as the Chosokabe I retained my allies from the East - even the ones that had only recently asked to become my ally. The West went against me but they ha dnot been happy with me for a while. Also a number of minor clans joined the fight against me (the single region ones).

Heh, when I first encountered the Realm Divide I was like: "Ooh, this looks cool!", 2 turns later I was like: "BRING OUT THE ING TANKS!!! We don't have any? What do we got? Mulewagons!? Send them, by Buddah send them!!!", and It took some serious replacement of garrison troops to choke points to reestablish order and slowly, inch by inch, arrow by arrow, sword by swo- you get the point, retake what I lost and then slowly, slowly advance bring my enemies to heel.

i had 5 vassals and 2 allies whom had very good relations till the realm divide which showed -120 pts from my vassals towards me and kept declining. i kepted trying to balance by giving them money but after taking shogun and soon after i lost all my vassals and came my enemy which some died and new factions came up which chose to go war with me right away. but when i did try to ally myself with any new factions it would not let me but to go war against me. so now im just getting archers in every province because war on both side and rebellions which need descent amount of army to defend against and then theres navy u gotta worry about.

i chosed carefully who to ally and make my vassal so my allies wouldnt be at war with each other and lose political pts. but i traded with everyone which might had the affect on my allies. now every province i take i do baby step and leave behind like 6 stack of archers and 1 spear in every province to be safe and then move on to attk next province.
