Stab in the face while sleeping! Still alive???

How is it my ninja can stab a general in the face, throat, or general head area and he still manages to be ok after a few months? The stinkin' knife is stuck into the enemy's head. Or even when I slit his throat while he is talking over battle plans with some advisors? Who the hell comes back from that? It's almost like this smilie walking over and picking up his head and is on his merry way.

I'd be shocked if I saw someone get stabbed in the face and survive. By a trained ninja no less. I'm not griping about the videos themselves, they are quite amusing and very well done...but, maybe they could've made some for Generals being wounded, too.

Maybe in the process of stabbing said General in the face, he could roll over or something, making the ninja miss a little but still hit the face in a wounding way. Then he'd wake up and yell, forcing the ninja to retreat before the job could be complete.

I did see a guy on Ripley's get who got shot in the head with an arrow and survive. It even went into his brain, I think. If I remember correctly he has no permanent brain damage and is still normal.

I've seen people survive some pretty ugly stuff in my four decades of living stupidly in stupid places.
Oh yeah, and then there's the minor aspect that we're playing a video game here, and need to give it some leeway.

People have survived shots to the head from point blank range. Sometimes deadlier than a sword because the bullet break apart and the pieces pierce anything around them. I recall a story from my spanish teacher who told me that he and his friend were driving through a country in South America until they were stopped by guerilla fighters. The guerillas took my teacher's friend and did something called ''the shot of luck'' or something. Basically shoot him in the head pointblank; if he's lucky he'll live, if not he dies. They left the two after shooting him. My teacher was able to drive him to a nearby hospital and his friend thankfully survived. So for swords or atleast a sharp blade of sorts, I've heard some stories of survival so its possible.

That' s an amazing story! I think I've figured out the problem: My noob ninja's are lazy and forgetful. They evidently never check the pulse or go in for a second stab. I should have them assassinated, show them how a pro does it.

They should have a few open attacks that can easily be sen as a possibility of a failure. Something like a push out of a window, burn down his building, or fire an arrow.

Its one of the many stories out there that people have. Just goes to show how harsh our world can be but at the same time how lucky we are sometimes.

Well also keep in mind, chaps, that your targets are mostly generals. These men are not like us, who will yell, cry and run for a band-aid when we cut our finger while working in a kitchen. A trained warrior is most likely able to handle grievous wounds and still survive, just because the environment he is in.

If the wound is discovered early and the person doesn't pass out (thus stops breathing), then even a slash in the throat or stab in the head is survivable.

Also about the statement which accuses one's ninja doing a sloppy job. Well, you must realize that unlike assassination cinematic in previous titles where you agent just "fire-and-forget", your ninja does pause and stay for a brief moment to confirm the target is at least in incapacitated.

all these excuses for why they survive dont make much sense though, as when he stabs them he is usually all alone with him, so he could at least make sure they die instead of one stab and going home, plus most of these stories of survial in the thread are the exceptions not the rule.
